I am taking on the Project Leader role on a project (not promoted yet) and the project’s previous PL, who I’m taking over for, is hyper on my throat...policing my prioritization of work, joining a call late and re-clarifying something I already covered with the client, etc.

BCG fish - what's the difference between a consultant and project leader in regards to role played on a team, what you have to watch out for internally (i.e. Politics, selling / BD work), what are grounds for up and out? When does path to partner start to ramp up / how does it ramp up? Thanks!
