I realized today that I’ve spent more time venting to my therapist about my boss than I have talking about my actual life goals. My job has become my entire personality because the stress is so all-consuming that I can't think about anything else. Even on Saturdays, I’m just dreading the Sunday Scaries. I hate that I’ve let a paycheck have this much power over my mental well-being. How do you reclaim your identity from this?

I know that some other associates at my level are approximately 30% behind other associates in hours on a month to month basis. Yet all of these associates say they are “at capacity”, and myself and another associate still end up being assigned work instead of them. How do we handle this? For reference, all associates are around the firms minimum requirement, it’s just that a few of us are 30+% over and it is leading to burnout.
