Any advice for a 3rd year risk assurance associate looking to break into a consulting role? I feel like I don’t quite have the tech experience (knowledge of SQL, Java, etc. ) and i don’t quite have the accounting knowledge being that we’re in IT. . Anyone make the switch ? What advice would you give ? Anything I should try to learn now or any transferable skills you leveraged? Anything would help!

Thinking about leaving B4. Will be a senior 1 in tax come October. Been doing some thinking and can’t decide if being in tax long term is for me. Want to transition into finance role. Thinking about leaving to be a finance associate somewhere and wanted to get input as the career paths for these moves. Ultimately want to be a CFO I think. Do you guys have some tips on how to transition into more of a manager role? Throughout my career, I’ve prided myself on my ability to execute at a high level and “get the job done” so to say. I know that this change is a logical next step in my career, but I’m nervous about handing work off and delegating, as I’m essentially afflicted with the irrational opinion that “I could do the job better.” I know my outlook is flawed, but are there ways I can help build trust in others? Thanks!
Promoted to manager but feeling really nervous about it. Any seasoned vets have things that helped you gain confidence and step up into this critical role?

It's a problem of motivation, all right? Now, if I work my ass off and we ship a few extra units, I don't see a dime; so where's the motivation? And here's something else. I have eight different bosses right now. Eight. So that means when I make a mistake, I have eight different people coming by to tell me about it. That's my only real motivation is not to be hassled. That, and fear of losing my job. But you know, that'll only make someone work hard enough not to get fired 🖨

Tax M&A promotion expectations (regular market vs current market)? Assume promotion to senior and promotion to manager.
My firm docked associates 25% of our salary and they gave us the 25% back as a bonus (many have fled the firm) is this horrible or am I overthinking? Also, no salary increase, yet the firm is doing better than pre-covid.
