You won’t necessarily get blacklisted, especially if you handle it professionally and communicate early. A lot of healthcare professionals accept offers while still exploring other opportunities because timing and burnout are real concerns.
I’d say think about what matters most to you right now - pay, mental health, work-life balance, remote flexibility, growth, or stability. A remote role paying slightly less may still be worth it if it improves your quality of life and reduces burnout.
If you do decide to withdraw later, just be respectful, appreciative, and transparent instead of ghosting them. Most large companies have seen this happen before. Protecting your peace and long-term wellbeing is important too. Wishing you the best whichever route you choose 🤍
It sounds like you already know you don't want to take this ambulatory RN role. If you're in a financial position to do so, you should let the office know ASAP that you have had some unanticipated personal circumstances come up and you will not be able to accept the role -- be apologetic and professional and thank them for their time. Although this may or may not end up with any kind of HR flag (I worked for a very large organization that was NOT organized to do this kind of thing!), it is better than burning yourself out further or compromising patients' care. I wish you luck finding a better-fit role!
First of all congratulations.!! 🙌🏻 The job market out here for registered nurses is tough. To just get an interview is hard! I’ve applied to I don’t know how many jobs and interviewed and it’s very rare to find a position that you totally fit. Just to give you an example I interviewed for Optum, which is owned by CIGNA and one of the first questions I was asked was how do you handle angry patient. I thought that is a horrible first question and I had her clarify that then she changed her wording to upset, but it just put me off on the job completely because basically you’re going into people’s homes and they’re upset because you’re there and you’re supposed to see 6 to 7 people a day and that doesn’t even include your drive time and cover 12 counties. Ahhhh no thanks!!
I’ve been on LinkedIn for a long time and applied to many remote jobs. Not 1 has panned out. Now if you have coding or a case management experience youre set!! Generally, they don’t pay anywhere near 40 even the AI jobs I’ve applied for they don’t go anywhere. Personally anymore I don’t want anything to do with working for AI.
I have an interview at Adams tomorrow. ☺️
I thought it was just me having issues with landing a job! I've been at it since March. Not sure if floor nursing is something easily landed right now, it's not an option for me. I have experience in hospice, case management, chemo/infusion, plus cardiac step down. I was beginning to think I have a huge "do not hire" stamped across my resume. And I don't change jobs often. My shortest gig was 1.5 years and even then I transferred to another dept. It's wild. You always hear people say how nurses are in such high demand. Um, no. Not too high of a demand.
Hello, I have a question about a Billing specialist role, what if i get a new role and realize after a week the job is not for me, what is the best way to resign.
