Hey fish, I’m coming up on a year post PhD and this job has drained a lot out of me. There’s not a lot I enjoy: overpromising partners, annoying clients, endless iterations (from either client or partner), poorly scoped KOL interviews, long hours… The only reason I haven’t quit is the US healthcare system’s reliance on employer provided insurance. Where can I go with ~1YOE post PhD? It feels like nearly every job requires a lot more and I just don’t have it in me to push through another 1-2y…

What’s the going rate for a product marketing manager and a senior product marketing manager these days? Ranges would be helpful. I just started applying to jobs (after having been in a PMM role for 1.5 years at $120K) and compensation seems to be all over the board - regardless of years experience. Just had a very uncomfortable conversation with a partner. I have some time off booked to go to my brother’s wedding (I’m the best man). We were chatting and I mentioned that my brother’s future husband is so nice and really a great guy, and we already consider him a member of our family. Partner’s tone immediately shifts and as we’re ending the call he says, “Okay, enjoy the time with your family at the civil ceremony.” Like… girl you live in California, you cannot be this backward.

NYC. Hoping to get into contract on a co-op this week. Lawyer thinks we should put 60 days to close in contract. RE agent prefers 90 days bc board will take forever. Lawyer says that 60 days is better bc she wants to put pressure on seller to close & there will be no repercussions to us as buyers if board takes longer. Rate is only locked for 90 days & she thinks we can get a commitment quickly.

Best office chair for pregnancy? My ikea chair is not cutting it. I have a standing desk at home so bonus points if it works well with that. I have short legs, so it needs to be able to go lower to the floor than other chairs. Maybe one that has a great range so I could use it to lean on while standing and also sit ergonomically.
