I'm curious, I have not been applying to jobs that are below my requested salary range. I'm hoping to find a job that gets me at least $5k-$10K more than what I'm currently making. Am I missing opportunity by not applying to those roles? Is $5-$10K a good range to change jobs? Should it be more? I would say my current experience aligns with my current salary (on the lower end of the range)

Been 3 months since I joined Luxoft and I am assigned to a backward DXC project. The lead is oppressive and bossy. There is no work-life balance and 9:30 hours of work is not enough for them. My probation period is going to end soon. Should I inform my Luxoft manager and tell him to change my project right now ? Or shall I wait for him to end my probation period ?

Hi! I have been working in marketing and advertising for ~5 years and recently started exploring the freelance side of things. I started conversations with a small boutique studio about doing Facebook ads for them and they asked what my retainer fee would be to manage them. Since I’ve always worked for a company that was hired to do it I am not entirely sure what a freelance rate for that should be? I would love any insight. I’m certified through meta’s platform too if that matters.

I recently got a job offer through a company that offered me the high end of what I was asking (75k) but since it is the high end of what I asked for, do I have room to negotiate? Do I have a leg to stand on if I even try negotiating at the point? I have til Friday to fully accept. I have worked in marketing for about 6-7 years. First few years were in social media management. My goal is to work at a big tech company.

After doing freelance for the last two years, I’ve decided to go back to the corporate world. I’ve been applying a ton of places but keep getting turned down immediately - not even a first interview and I can’t figure out why.

I feel like I have a lot of good accolades as far as awards, a graduate certificate program board I’m on, really good stats from my previous work, etc.

I have 7 years experience. Are people looking for someone w/ less experience/cheaper?

I’m job searching right now and applied for a job I was a little overqualified for just to shoot my shot and get my foot in the door with a great brand. The hiring mgr took the time to email me to tell me I was overqualified and offered to help me get connected to his network. He’s been so kind and helpful and I’m kind of in shock at his generosity. Even if an offer doesn’t come from it, is it weird if I send him a Starbucks gift card or something as a thank you? What’s appropriate?
