I have an in-house offer. $200k base, 25% target bonus and 25% equity grant. I am currently a rising third year in biglaw.
My recruiter claims that if I take the in-house position, she’d expect that in 3-4 years my base salary would increase to the mid to high 200s, with target bonus and equity each increasing to 40-50% of base.
Is this realistic or is she blowing smoke?
As background, this offer is at a young but rapidly growing PE firm in TX.

What to do about a senior that is away all day, lies about work they are (are not) getting done, ignores staff questions, places blame on staff when something goes wrong, and claims credit and praise when the staff find an issue in front of the execs? I’m so tired of this gaslighting, but don’t have any concrete evidence to point out to execs because nothing is in writing. Master manipulator in the making.
How does your school handle non-contract day or weekend duties? Extra pay? Volunteer? Can these days be required?
First year family law associate..I only have 1160 billable hours done for the year (I’m including what I expect to bill in December as well). Given I only make $80,000 a year, is that reasonable? Or is that a super low number and should I expect to be fired soon 😂. My target billables is supposed to be 1680 a year. Also my hourly rate is only $109 because all we do is legal aid here.
I go to the gym 5 days a week and get stronger, but bulkier. I can’t fit into my clothes anymore and when I go out just feel like I’m fat. Idk if I just need to fix nutrition or stop lifting. I used to play Bball a lot but that stopped with age and covid. Thought I was eating right but just tired of the mass build

This bowl waiting for deal flow to pick back up so they can resume posting about how they’re basically working ib hours for half the pay, the job being unpredictable and damaging to their health/wlb, followed by the undercover A&M recruiters telling us to might as well join them since you get compensated for the hours worked.
Hello all. I’m and RN and have been for 8 years. I have done so much beyond bedside. I never wanted to be a nurse, just did it because I didn’t know what I really wanted to do, and job security. I have always been artistic, but I want steady income. I tried the entrepreneurial thing, and for myself into a financial mess. My mental health has been declining and I’m fixing that. I guess I’m frustrated because I want to make more money so I can save and live comfortably, enjoy my job. Any advice?
First gen, first year lawyer here. What do you do when you have family members who expect money from me every paycheck. I try to stand my ground but I get guilt tripped, especially when those family members were there for me.
It’s getting hard to save money when there is this expectation that I must give them money every paycheck. It feels like I have nothing for myself.
Well IKEA is pretty much not delivering anything. Brand Recommendations for <$500 loveseat/couches?
What it means when they say internal project requirement and not a client facing role. Will it be a good add on to my resume?
Pls let me know guys
I’ve worked in the industry for about 17 years now and the one challenge I always have is identifying toxic mindsets before they become obvious. Personal accountability is sorely lacking in many people at many levels of all industries.

Hoping to get my PHR in the next year or so. Outside of employer reimbursement, are there other opportunities for this to get funded? I know SHRM Foundation offers scholarships for the CP, but I am looking for PHR specific help. Thank you! :)

Is this legal? My spouses company just decided to change their comp structure for account managers. It was base + comm, now it’s commission only but nothing changed, OT commission is the same, didn’t get more points, just took away the base pay and said work harder basically. So now they have to worker harder to get $50k they were already making. (Not a decision based on employee performance, they’ve been crushing it. I think the company is just trying to save money they overspent else where)
For those in smaller high growth tech companies, where do you turn for resources on org development, engagement, trends, etc.? I’m moving from a large tech org to a a 150 person company. SHRM does not seem relevant at all. Podcasts, social media followings, etc?
Any strategies or resources you could recommend for getting rid of the dreaded annual performance review (or at least lessening the dread) and creating a more effective year round performance feedback system? Our review is currently tied to our end of year bonuses and merit increases, so not sure I could get rid of it entirely. This would be for hourly and management employees, all working on-site.
Has anyone here gotten rid of the annual review / annual performance eval? If so, how are you doing merit increases without the ratings?
May soon have an offer for in-house TA coordinator role but also and an entry level agency recruiter position, contemplating which is most suitable.
Any advice on how to identify which is best? Would love to hear from those whom have done both sides of the coin but also everyone else!

I’m interviewing for a Talent Acquisition internship at a large tech company (~5,000) and I’m feeling a bit iffy about the position. My initial impression was that it involved front-end recruitment, interviews, sourcing but it seems to be more back-end, operations & systems oriented. The job desc. is vague and I believe Talent Acquisition Operations Intern is more fitting since it’s more of a technical position - is this a big difference & will the TA intern look less technical on my resume?
I’m taking the SHRM-CP exam today and I’m pretty nervous. I’ve been studying for three months but somehow it still feels like it wasn’t enough. Any words of encouragement?
