I'm excited about a job offer I just received, but a bit worried about the 7-year background check. I've been honest about the dates, but didn't list all my past jobs (I worked temp jobs to make ends meet) before my current role. Since the temp jobs weren't relevant to my career goals, I left them off my resume. Could these omissions cause a problem with the background check?

No I wouldn't worry about it. A lot of people submit curated CVs, not including every single detail of their lives or employment history. I'd only be concerned if you have an undisclosed felony or something

Working some temp jobs that weren't really relevant wouldn't seem to be a problem. Generally speaking the background check is just to verify education and any legal problems. I'm not even sure temp jobs would turn up.

I had a few short-term gigs I left off my resume, too, and it wasn’t a problem at all during the background check. As long as there’s no dishonesty, you’re probably fine. Background checks usually focus more on verifying your current role, education, and anything you did list.

That shouldn't be a problem. For my insurance positions, I've also removed any retails jobs that were not relevant and it's never been an issue.
