How do you know you're ready to move from an Account Executive to a Senior Account Executive role?
If anyone is looking for a role in tech PR, Haymaker in NYC is hiring a Senior Account Executive! We're a team of 10 full-time team members rn and our current clients include Etsy, Zocdoc, BentoBox, and formerly, Seat Geek and Grubhub. Full info here, happy to answer any questions related to the role! We're fully remote for now, but hope to be back in our NYC office by September. https://t.co/puoR8S6lxu
Just saw an intern I managed get promoted to SAE.
Trying to figure out how not to get caught in a 2 years = promotion cycle, but it seems that’s where I’m at. Is this normal?? I’d be okay with 1.5 years even, but 2 years and a few months at a role I know I’m kicking ass at sucks.
Is it time to jump ship??
Hi everyone! Desperately looking for advice on appropriate salary expectations....
Currently an Account Executive – stepping up to Senior Account Executive in the next month or so. 3 years experience.
Work at a smaller agency & am fully aware that my current salary is grossly low-balled. Was told to name a number for SAE role, but have no basis for what a 'normal' range looks like for that role.
How much salary increase can I ask for an account supervisor role at a new company (and limit?), and how much increase would I be able to ask if I were to be promoted to a GAS at the same potential company? I’m currently a SAE!
I’m interviewing for an AE position at a smaller agency, about 80 people. Looking at people’s profiles that work at this agency on LinkedIn, it feels like I have more experience than all AEs there and match more with SAE levels. I know I applied to an AE position, but could I ask the recruiter about having an SAE title? Is that a bad look?
Anyone have an idea of what salary expectations are realistic for a sae role that is now fully remote but will support nyc business?
for context i’m currently an ae in chicago so i just want to know what to expect. near the end of the process, hoping to get an offer and just don’t want to be surprised. thanks!!
Are there any agencies in NY or LA that are actively hiring for SAE / AM roles? Any agencies that I should stay away from?
Any advice on best approaches to countering an offer? Have been offered an AE position but would like to counter for SAE based on my experience (3 years). Also my current agency is planning to promote me to SAE in Jan.
I’m a year overdue for my SAE promotion due to covid and business issues. I was told by my SVP that the promotion is definitely coming before EOY & I just need to “sit tight”. In the mean time I have been interviewing for an associate brand manager role for a smaller CPG company. Is it worth it to make the jump this early if my goal is to go brand side anyway? Or is it worth it to stick it out & get my promotion first? The new salary is also probably higher than my promotional raise will be too
Can you negotiate for an AS role when the posting asks for SAE? Has anyone done this? Tips?
Pharma folks: how much should I ask for a pay raise? I’m an SAE going into AS role and in negotiation with HR on salary.
Resources/courses/tips for merging career path with brand or creative strategy?
My career path has been anything but linear - interned in creative (copy), worked in SEO/content creation until I got my BA in advertising (minor in Psych). Worked first two years in digital media, then two in branded content + project/account management. Now in an SAE role, which I enjoy but want to continue my education in line with my interest in the big picture planning and strategy.
So my questions:
Does anyone know of any agencies that are hiring remote positions? Specifically SAE? I live in Boston but open to a fully remote position but not sure if any agencies are doing this yet? I haven’t seen many.

Anyone have experience moving from agency to I’m-house or brand side? I was just let go from Edelman & it was my 2nd lay-off in 2 years and my 3rd agency. I’m worried if I look at another agency (if they’re even hiring) that I’ll get laid off again. I was an SAE. Any advice is welcome!
Are there any healthcare PR agencies who are open to hiring those with little to no experience but who are really interested in learning? I would be interested in transitioning from B2B / tech / advertising into healthcare and taking a lower title, but a couple recruiters have told me most do not want to train incoming talent. I totally understand of course, but wondering if an SAE applying for a lower title in a field they don’t have a ton of experience with is appealing at all.
What are the key differences between an SAE and an AS role? How long is someone usually an SAE before being promoted (based on your experience)?

Anyone in Chicago hiring for an SAE or Account Sup?! Looking for something new in the city.
Would you leave an AS position for a Group Acct Sup position if you’re only coming on to a year at your current agency? Note that that I was another agency as an SAE for less than a year as well.

Is 55 - 60k a livable salary to live in NYC. This is for a junior art director position with their location in So ho. I know that salary wouldn’t work in Manhattan, unless I’m wrong, so I’m guessing I would have to live in a different borough?

I’m sending an email to female partner in a leadership position (never met) to set up a meeting to introduce myself. My plan is to send her a short email, giving some background about myself and let her know I want to connect to introduce myself. During the meeting, I plan to discuss my key projects, ask about her vision and how I can help her/which initiatives could participate. I’m up for Sr Mgr promotion and making a good impression is critical. Any tips? anything else I should prep?

Bringing this topic to the broader bowl: why is product manager at a big tech deemed a more respectable role than an internal Consulitng/biz ops role? I have interacted with some product managers at big tech. It seems to me the focus of PM work, especially at a big tech, is quite narrow: you start off improving a button, a UI, a small feature release, and nature of the work is very operational. Can someone explain to me the reason behind MBA grads flocking to PM path vs. say google biz ops?
Hey guys need help evaluating two offers: offer A: technical product manager, TC 110k. Offer B: product analyst, TC 140k. Offer A offers better work exp and I want to do PM work, offer B pays more and has the potential to internal transfer to a PM role within a year, but it’s obviously not guaranteed. You can assume that everything else is ok. HCOL area for both offers

Went from unpaid intern to contract, my boss didn’t pay me very much the whole year about $600 even though I worked on multiple UX projects. He promised me work with companies the whole time and didn’t deliver and was hard to get a hold of. I got an offer 6 figures and told him I was leaving. He suddenly wants me to work on his stalled projects after months of not submitting the materials 4 days before work. In the long run, he is a good contact but I no longer want to be a doormat.
