They finally fired the Sr. Con!!! Boy, was he burning the budget!!!

I was fired after I reported a partner for a serious (criminal) ethics violation. The firm covered it up. Are all companies like this in the end? I’ve lost my trust and don’t know how to start over.

I was just let go from my company which I really enjoyed working at after only 9 months in a newly created role. I was completely blindsided and told it’s was due to scope and organizational changes. I had no performance reviews or discussions leading up to termination. It didn’t seem like this was a performance driven decision, but I feel completely left in the dark and unsure what to do in this economic climate. Should I ask for more severance (4wk/2 paychecks is what they offered)?

Who handled layoffs the best among BIG4? Let’s be honest. And who handled it the worst?

I am afraid after seeing layoffs news of EPAM, Publicis Sapient & most of the other companies calling employees in the office.
I love my WFH in PwC India & base location of Kolkata. & the best thing is stability in PwC India, they never lay off!!

I am recently received an invite for a meeting with a partner and a HR person which means I am either going to be laidoff or put on a reduced schedule (60% time for 60% pay). I would rather being laidoff since I don’t want to still work 100% with 60% pay. How would I frame it if they put me on the reduced schedule? I don’t want to say “you have to fire me” since it might be counted as resignation and I won’t receive the severance package.

I wish Ad salaries were like NBA salaries. Each year you get a ridiculous raise no matter how shitty you perform. If you are good you get bird rights and no layoff clauses. And retire at 35.

I was let go from my position yesterday. The managing partner, who did the letting go, said it as because of poor development and bad work product. Yet, only in December, I got a solid raise and excellent bonus for my size firm. Between then, the partner had made unsupported claims of bad work (e.g., claimed I used the wrong code in a letter bc it wasn’t the one he told me to use but the one the documents supported). Two questions: Should a freelancer have any expectations regarding on-going employment? And is there any obligation on the agency’s part to pay a freelancer to produce a concept that they developed?

I was laid off from Deloitte in the 18th. I have an interview with Amazon for a Senior Program Managers Non Technical position with Amazon hiring manager on Monday. Any advice would be much appreciated. I would love to get into Amazon. I hear their interview process is brutal.

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

I moved to US a couple of years back and did my CPA. I accepted an offer of 58k for tax associate at a PA firm. Getting experience was my priority. Now after 3 years I am at 76k. Priority has shifted from experience to money. Is 76k low/high/about right for 3 years of experience at a mid sized firm?

Planning out my promotion within my current firm. Can I switch jobs once I receive my EAD or can I switch once I-485 is pending >180 days without restarting PERM?

Alternatively, can I switch just with I-140 approval? Does the role have to be >50% similarity to be under AC21 portability?

Hello everyone! I am interviewing at another company for a HR Generalist Contract position at Adobe and when they asked me what my pay expectations are, I asked them what their pay range and expectations were for this role. She let me know she was unable to tell me, yet still wanted me to give an answer. Do you believe that’s fair? How should I bring up pay expectations in my next round of interviews to ensure I am aware of what this position is offering so I don’t lowball or overshoot myself?

Just asked for a raise was told it would take 2 years to adjust to match others at my level. I get from a business perspective this makes sense, emotionally it doesn't.

I started a job with a tutoring company. I had to go in for training at 2pm one day. They never told me how long I would work until I got there. Turns out I had to work until 7:30. 5 and a half hours of training. My previous experience with the same company (diff franchise) only required 1 hour of training. Anyways at the end of my shift, they said I don’t get paid for that day. They didn’t guarantee pay the next day, either. I left and said it was illegal. Was I right?
