I'm miserable at my current company, even though I'm getting by financially. I'm interviewing for jobs that offer a slightly higher base, but might have better WLB. I'm afraid the grass won't be greener, and I'll just be stressed somewhere new, though. Should I sit tight and wait for a job that promises a real change?

Do it . Nothing worse than being miserable at a job that “getting you by”, you’ll bring that misery home and spread it everywhere.

Or you can reinvent yourself.

There is always a leap of faith when you start somewhere new. I would think about the current issues and if there is anything I can do in the meantime. Keep interviewing and searching, just know for sure what you are trying to fix.

The problem with waiting for the ideal job to come along is that you get into analysis paralysis. You don't make the decision and opportunities keep going by. It's likely that any new job comprises some aspect of the grass looking greener. You still have to consider all the factors and make a serious decision and not just wait for something ideal that may never arrive.

You're always going to deal with some level of stress at work. I wouldn't let that keep me from taking a job offering more money. Do your research and to get an idea of what working there is really like and if it doesn't look like a complete cluster, go for it. Doesn't sound like things could be much worse for you than they are now.

If the job’s draining you, you’ve already lost the “green.” Stress disguised as stability isn’t loyalty — it’s fear in a company polo.

Start by defining what you really want. Then go find it. But you can do that while you keep the job that’s motivating you to look someplace else. Your attitude and energy will go up as soon as you take action once you decide what you really want and go after it. Don’t settle, you will regret it.

Offer from AMZN @ 160 TC, just got promo @ D to M, comp statements don't come out until first week in June. Would probably stay if comp came in equal or slightly above. What are the chances?

Was hoping AMZN would be higher but they pegged the role a lvl lower than originally discussed during the process...so here we are.

Not sure if I should play my hand and push for more to stay or if they will just say "wait 5 weeks or here is the door"

Top performer, upper right both grids, early promo
