Hey guys! So I have a Top Secret Clearance and recently joined Amazon in a position that doesn’t require it. Would Amazon offer to host my clearance considering that they are looking for multiple people with this type of clearance? I’m open to cleared work but was hired for a commercial Strategy and just not sure if I should bring it up? Thought?

Any rec for Valentine's day in DC?
Hi Fellow fishes, I had an hr discussion with amdocs and during salary negotiation they told we can't give more than 11 lpa, they told it's the last offer and didn't negotiate at all. My current CTC is 7 lpa and YOE: 3 years. How can I renegotiate with them. Will they not process my offer letter if I ask them to reconsider? P.S. : I really want to join amdocs. Amdocs

Do you want to be a partner and are willing to grind for a few years as SM in order to get there? Only if the above is true should you consider stay. Otherwise get out and tech is good place to land
Completely understand. It’s a big decision. Not very common for consultants to join Tech into people management roles (unless you are very senior), as normally you are being recruited for other skill or industry expertise. Many things to consider here as you try to make a decision :) at least sounds like $$ is roughly the same in both situations
Definitely consider jumping to Amazon. Highly recommend. Previously worked there prior to D and man do I wish I could go back. Been applying for weeks but no luck. Seems like a drag to get a hold of the recruiters
D6 what level are you joining at?
You'll probably get 15-20% increase on base so maybe $145-150 ideal scenario. Then maybe $10-15K bonus. So you'll hit similar TC as Amazon. However, your Amazon TC seems low to me. If it was me especially if they already gave higher TC I would negotiate on options. Base at Amazon is whatever - let them keep that, but you should get more on the other end. Tell them you're already confirmed for the M promotion and your comp is set to change, you're fine with the base but need more comp otherwise to make the move make sense.
Regardless, the question is do you want to continue in consulting or not? Amazon is not particularly well known for its WLB but IMO it also has stronger brand appeal than Deloitte and may open up other tech opportunities. Also depends if this is like a program manager role or whatever at Amazon too and what you want your career path to be.
Thanks for the link! Will certainly do some more research there. I'm inclined to a change a scenery but not if TC doesn't come up another 10-15k, doesn't even have to be on base, just somewhere.
Take the offer from Amazon.

You will hit around the same total comp at Deloitte. I think you should take Amazon but let the title hit first.
Congrats on the early promotion by the way. Extreme hard this year - actually why I left a few months ago
Fair point, supposed to get the offer letter Friday and heard it's 3 days to respond. Just not sure if it's worth pitching back to D and saying "what can we work out?"
What’s your total comp now?
125k base, 10k bonus last two years, 0% base raise this year like the majority of the firm due to covid
Hoping that between merit, promo, market adjustment and overall sentiment they need to reward top people from the last 2 years to retain them that it would be a high % this year but just hard to trust the firm.

Please break down your offer. What’s the base + RSU? At your current 125 you would need a 20% increase to match - highly unlikely
Just got the call tonight, full letter with base/RSU breakdown won't come until Friday. Recruiter couldn't give me $ split on the phone. Original discussions during recruiting process were 185TC so a bit bummed by the 160TC offer.
Vesting year 1 only 5%, 15% year 2
20% would be a stretch but got 25% from C to SC so figured it might be a possibility.
What type of consulting? I'm in cyber risk and wanna move to FAANG as well
Finance Technology
Where are you currently based out of? Is your amazon offer at the same location? That can make a lot of difference.
Currently east coast based (not NYC), AMZN offer is for HQ2 in Arlington
What level did your new position come in at?
Ask for a L6, it’s the best time to negotiate
What role?
Part of the finance apps team supporting a number of the global accounting functions and their systems
If you start talking to your practice about leaving, they may be inclined to release your comps earlier.
Sounds like a great opp at Amazon that you should not pass up. D will be there in a year if your absolutely hate it.
Plus the 2 brands on your resume will open a lot of exists.
Thanks for the reply! Yes that's my current debate is if I push in D go either confirm comp or bump comp since there's offers out there in the marketplace. Can't say I've ever heard them confirming comp early, normally you just get some PC answer "wait and see"
Not obsessed with the role at AMZN @ 160, the programs I'm working on @ D right now are more interesting and aligned to my future goals but I was will go be a little less thrilled for the 185.
Agree, both names will drive better ops but if the work I'm doing at AMZN isn't what I want to do longer term, is it even worth that time or do continue focusing on the work I like / want @ D and then push for exit ops in those areas in a year or two
When you say $160k total comp what you mean? Salary + bonus only or are you measuring that plus PTO, benefits, 401k?
Just want to make sure your TC is comparing apples to apples.
Thanks for the comparative! Will definitely leverage it in my negotiation approach.
If it were me I would stay and keep looking for other opportunities. Seems like Amazon is low-balling you. I’d bet they have a back up candidate who’s almost as good (in their minds) and ok with the lower comp. You’ll get better career development as a manager for the next 2-3 years and have better exit opportunities along the way.
Consultant at D is 100% L5 at Amazon. You’re not coming in as an L6 if you’re exiting as a C.
Consultant at D is one level up from Analyst.
🤦♀️ AMZN for sure
