Managing Director in the ad world fired; had participated in the insurrection on the US Capitol.
Hey friends, I was laid off (due to COVID) from Accenture a month ago as an analyst. I had a pretty good network of SM, MD and managers that I talked to frequently before. However once I was laid off, I got depressed and haven’t reached out to any of them. I feel horrible but I’m trying to push myself out of my depression and make some positive changes. My fear is that at this point, I’m just a number and that they don’t care. It’s causing me anxiety and I’m telling myself it’s too late now.
Random MD call at 3pm EST today. Potentially getting laid off. Wish me luck. Any words of wisdom would b appreciated. Scared of the unknown.
Got scheduled for a random MD chat tomorrow. Wish me luck. My heart just sank, but I knew this might happen due to lower chargeability. Ironic since yesterday I dreamt I got laid off.
Suggestions! Was put on PIP coz of last year's util%. Currently having intermin above expectations in PIP. PIP POC says BPOC(SM I haven't worked with) fired on him for giving a good feedback and asked to set unrealistic expectations w/o - clarity in requirements, supporting docs(tho they have it) and feedback. I have recorded the calls with PIP POC & coach telling that they can't go against BPOC and give a good feedback despite I meeting all the expectations. Should I show the rcrding to MD/HR?
Currently living in my hometown. Joined Accenture a few months back and MD wants me to move to another city. I’m living with some family currently and want to wait it out due to covid, layoffs, etc. but I want to move out of my family’s place but still in the same city till I move. I just don’t have enough room here. Thing is I don’t want to buy new furniture and then have to bring it with me to that new city. I’d rather bring less to that new city and buy when I get there. What should I do?
Performance review recently, good performer and all is going well. Up for promotion. Then my project MD emails me saying we should connect and I go into tailspin thinking I’m in trouble. Logically, am I getting fired? And why is this exactly where my mind goes?
I need advice. I’m on a project and I just don’t know what to do. My 2 SMs keep yelling at me & my anxiety is crazy I’ve gone to the MD and he does nothing, sometimes joins in. It’s only me and a M doing the work and he acts like this is normal. I’ve talked to my counselor and he doesn’t care. I understand that I make mistakes, but the yelling only makes it worse. I’m tired and wish they would roll me off already, but I’m scared w/ layoffs. These men are all old enough to be my father.
Hey folx! My SO is filing for unemployment benefits after being laid off due to covid. The issue here is that he lives in DC as of Nov 2019, filed his 2019 taxes in MD and his tech company was based in Los Angeles but he traveled all the time. He filed in DC and got denied since they couldn’t find the job he worked?? Not sure if he should provide his W-2 to DC or just file in MD instead. Any help is appreciated as he’s weeks behind on getting benefits.
The acting SECNAV who fired the TR Captain was an MD at PwC and their global defense network lead. I’m embarrassed as a fellow USNA alumni. Honor, Courage, Commitment huh?
Potential for Layoffs: I’m the most junior associate at my firm (30-40 attorneys in the Baltimore, MD area) by about three weeks. More in comments...
Was brought onto a project in red status 2 months ago. Last month client sponsor (SVP) was fired. This week my project MD was transferred off the account. Project still red. Pretty shook right now.
I reported a sexual harassment against a MD a couple of months after the summer and never heard back after the hotline said they'll have updates 3 weeks later. I am now laid off and MD is still on my
Heard about possible SM and MD layoffs today?
When your MD messages you at exactly 11:59pm and tells you to come into his office for a 'quick-small update'. Me thinking "layoff?" 🤔
An MD gave me a little more info around the layoffs. 200+ across levels (associate to partner) within FS. Mostly banking.
Spinning off an earlier post, is it better to quit or get laid off? I would think quitting and using the time to "re-center" (i.e. Travel for a few months) then job hunt would look better than lay off
Why do D layoffs target newer people? I know of several people with great reviews + high utilization but less than 1 year tenure and were let go. Whereas some with several years of tenure but mediocre/good ratings still have a job.
Strat Analyst at Accenture here, (<1 year). Rolled off a project 3 weeks ago and doesn't look like I'll be finding another soon. If COVID 19 carries over till Q4 , should I be worried about layoffs?
For those who were laid off / counseled out / etc, what did you tell prospective employers and how did they take it?
When you are put on a PIP can you be fired at any point during the timeframe of the PIP or does it usually happen at the end of the PIP?
How often to people get fired for expense related issues and what are the most common offenses?
Any suggestions on what to do differently considering the current economic climate? I’m at a Big 4 firm (not Deloitte) and concerned about layoffs. I haven’t taken any vacation this year and don’t want to take the voluntary hour reduction either. I plan to just keep my head down and deliver/sell as best I can. Should I be more proactive? Get involved with a specific big account I’ve been avoiding for a while now?
What’s the scoop on layoffs at D?
Can someone give some insight into the deloitte layoffs? How big are they layoffs and should I be concerned if I’m interviewing for them?
If you’re laid off for being a poor performer (nothing egregious, just poorer than average scores) will that typically come up in a routine background check for a new employer?
Uncle D's kids: have you heard of more layoffs?
...and someone replied ALL asking people to not use the Reply ALL button! Can these people be fired for being dumb?
Can you get fired for takin time off because you’re sick but have client deliverables due?
Need a good Indian restaurant in NYC to take my non desi girl friend. I want to show her my culture 😁 starting with food
Got promoted effective 7/1 but am leaving the firm with a start date of 7/7. When should I put in my two weeks? Would like vacation balance paid out at higher salary.
Hi! I’m moving to a new team where I’ll be helping with change management, and am lucky enough to pick my own title. Which of the following sound better / might have better exit opps? Both are accurate if slightly vague titles - Business Operations Associate OR Project Manager, Business Operations
Getting rolled off my project on very short notice. 2 days and only 1 day for KT for person replacing me. Never received negative feedback, mostly positive if not neutral. Feedback provided to (cont)
Applied to a role but after submitting I noticed a significant typo in my resume (one date on my previous role had the wrong year so the dates don’t line up) Would it be destructive to quickly create a new email and apply again to the position? Company uses greenhouse so I can’t edit my application retroactively.
all Omnicom WPP, and Publicis agencies are mandating work from home. If your boss is mandating you come in, is there any legal recourse? Putting lives in jeopardy?
My counselor set up an hour long meeting for next week entitled "Catch Up". I'm expecting a promotion to SC...is this bad?
Is it normal that engagement Managers own absolutely nothing? My EM on this current case made absolutely no slides/doesn’t even know where the analysis sheets are. He’ll also look to me to divide the work, oversee the associates, double check their work before Worth noting that we have infrequent client touch points so he’s not busy on that end either
Thoughts on "unlimited PTO"? I'm interviewing at a place that keeps bringing it up as a benefit. They say that corporate supports people taking a week to two weeks off. Maybe I'm cynical, but I've heard that at companies that offer this this, people rarely use the PTO or the PTO is rarely approved. What have your experiences been with this?
Just a reminder: ➡️ It’s okay to take a mental health PTO day ➡️ It’s okay to change your mind on what you want in life. You can start a new job/move to a new place/ make new friends/get a new hobby ➡️ It’s okay to be lead even if you are a “leader,” we all get need help sometimes ➡️ It’s okay to have unpopular preferences or opinions (so long as it’s not hurting others). “Cool” never remains cool ➡️ It’s okay to put your family’s needs over company needs. Your close friends/ family are irreplaceable

Any foreign attorneys feeling lost while working towards their master’s of law in US and working towards getting bar admission? Being an Indian-trained attorney, I still await to sit for bar (this year delay pandemic) but always curious about how things turn out for other foreign attorneys here on F1 visa.
Does everyone constantly feel on edge, as if they'll make one mistake and get fired? I know it's unreasonable, but definitely adds to anxiety all day long. Anyone else in the same boat?
1% cash back vs CSR points (1 point per $ spent in that category). In scope spend: $4000 spend / month. What do you recommend between the two?
How’s EYP compensation now after the meeting? I have 3 yoe and will they let me come in as a consultant or a senior associate?
I’m going through some family drama that is affecting my mental health. I’ve never tried therapy but I know I badly need it. I think that I’d be more comfortable talking to a Black therapist. Do you guys have any therapists who are available online whom you recommend?
Hello Everyone! I'm a student at IIT Dhanbad. I researched a bit about Product Management and Product Analyst and found it interesting. Can anyone suggest me how to start and also some tips to land a job or internship in the same profile considering the fact that I will pass out in 2022
The Oscar's mess is probably the smallest in terms of $ that PwC or any other firm has probably ever done to a client. Just a lot more noisy on the media.
