I’m on H-1B (Jan ‘22, renewed Jan ‘25) w ~2.5 years left. My employer filed PERM in Dec 2024, but I’m leaving for an MBA (Aug ‘25). PERM will be canceled when I leave, and I’m worried I won’t have enough H-1B time left post-MBA for a new employer to file PERM + I-140.

I’m worried about F1 because PERM means intent to stay. Should I consular process or change of status? Lawyer says to stay with firm for 2 years instead. But I need to leave my firm. Really want my MBA now. Any advice? Pls help.
