I’m seeing more and more where new hires are being brought in at similar or higher than tenured staff, which creates a lot of tension. It hasn’t happened to me personally yet, but I feel it will soon. Have you been in that situation yet, and what did you do?

You’re absolutely right it is happening a lot more often. Now with inflation and everything going up I think everybody should make at least $25 an hour minimum and even then it’s still not enough!🤪

Agreed!

And the new hires are coming in and getting all the hours like what the hell

Right?!

Not yet personally, but I’ve definitely seen it happen and it’s frustrating. I think the only thing you really can do is have that open convo with management and make sure your value and experience is clearly on the table. Otherwise it just builds resentment fast.

It feels unnecessarily stressful!

Yeah I’ve seen that happen before (not always directly to me, but close enough). It’s definitely frustrating and creates that “why am I being valued less?” feeling.
Honestly, what helped was bringing it up calmly with management and asking for a market adjustment based on experience and tenure rather than comparing with others. And if that doesn’t go anywhere, it kind of becomes a signal to start looking elsewhere too.
It’s a tough spot to be in though, never feels great seeing it play out.

Great points!

Hi All - I’m at a firm that has some infrequent in-house training but not enough to help me develop skills to eventually become a trial lawyer. I know cases rarely make it to trial anymore, but I’d like to develop my skills as much as possible to position myself well when they do. Does anyone have any mock trial programs they’ve participated in outside of their firms that they would recommend?

Hello Sharks, I recently gave interview of Tiger Analytics and after all successful technical discussion, they were offering me Senior analytics - data Science role for 15.5 fixed + 2L jb, considering my current yoe 4.3 and in data science relevant is not much(consider it 1.5+) but my cctc is 14(13fixed+1 variable), I denied to accept this offer. Should I reconsider that?

What is the variable pay does Macquarie give year on year ? And is there a surety that we will surely get a decent variable pay as well over our fixed package since I don't find anything mentioned regarding this variable pay in my offer letter. If yes, how much one can expect in variable pay for fixed compensation of around 25-30lpa.
