In light of all the other rampant trends of misogyny (Andrew Tate, the incel parts of “maxing culture”, literally the viral date rape masterclass, etc) and trends to get women back in the home, it’s a worrying direction to see advertising go back to. Even if it is mainly concentrated to male-centric brands. But it’s not surprising especially when you factor in how women (especially moms) are increasingly being squeezed out of the industry.
Feels like purity culture and policing other women’s choices to me. Let hot women be hot.
