In my opinion, the tech space is one industry that needs DEI Programs to ensure more women and people of color get into this industry.

No. The industry doesn’t need DEI, the people need to get the education and experience applicable to tech.
I do think the industry should invest more in outreach and funneling students towards STEM degrees that
feed into tech.
No, a person with a just a degree in communication isn’t ready for anything tech outside of sales.
You do realize that capable women and URMs from top STEM programs, have experience and get hired at lower rates than white male counterparts parts?
Top of the funnel is in better shape than the rest of the funnel.
Nobody needs DEI if they want to stay competitive. People need to be hired for merit not because of their race, gender or whatever
You realize that a lot of ppl are not actual capable of 100% merit based hiring.
There’s a reason why HR forces ppl to take implicit bias training.
