Well you PAID taxes all the year if you were employed. This is filing returns. If you had your own business or something, then what you said makes sense. If you kept your federal withholdings low and you owe taxes then, sure
Your tax dollars fund airports, federal highways and a lot more than what were cut. You do understand DOGE cuts or Gaza is nowhere even close to federal budget of 7 trillion. It’s ok just accept that you will evade taxes at the first chance you get than hiding behind some kind of social justice cause.
They will come for you sooner or later anyway, so have fun defending tax fraud in years to come. Comments above are amusing.
Honestly, I haven't filled my taxes yet and I'm not sure if I'm going to. I might just file for an extension and see how things go over the next few months.
You still have to pay the tax by April 15th regardless. You will save maybe $150 on TurboTax by not filing? At the end you will be the loser
I freelance on top of my job, and my accountant just got back to me on what I owe from my 1099, I told her to try and make it 1K less. She said, “no problem - it’s not like they are gonna have the staff to look at stuff that closely this year.”
Wut
Taxes no.
Student loans, that’s gonna be a maybe
No. I grew up in a country that has one of the lowest tax collection rates in the world, and my friends back there who work in the corporate sector are some of the most tax burdened people I know because they belong to the easiest sector to tax, those on a payroll.
There is literally nothing the citizens of that country get back from taxes, water for homes is privatized in some of the cities, meaning you pay for a water tanker to come fill up your tank. Public schools are horrible. Gas is moody, electricity comes and goes and there is load shedding in the summers. The number of public hospital beds for the population is comically inadequate.
I know what a society looks like when people stop paying taxes. I will NEVER stop paying taxes or filing because it’s never just one thing that my taxes contribute to and not every program that they fund needs to be to my liking, that’s why it’s called a society. I would urge you to do the same.
The average person buying into this garbage is leaving money on the table for over payments based on their employers withholding
I don’t understand your plan. With title regional director I doubt you’re self employed so how do you plan to get your withholdings back for the year?
For those of you asking about getting my tax withholdings back/tax refund, I don't get any money back. I usually have to pay $4,000 to $6,000 in additional taxes each year
So, nothing is being deducted from your check every pay period for taxes?
Here's an even better idea, if you're against the government, leave the country. If you stay, abide by the rules.
What. Lol 🤣🤣🤣
I just had a state that I used to live in come after me for 2019 income taxes, said I owed $20k! Of course it’s a misfiling and my accountant submitted evidence but they hunt you down sooner or later.
Let us know how that works out, brainiac.
