I am also interested in this. Have offer from Mastercard but designation I have doubts

The Designations can vary a lot by various verticals/BUs/geographies. Please clarify the vertical you're interested in or the designation you were offered or your background to give readers some context.

At level 7 you are a senior/Lead, can be expected to lead a small team of 2-3 juniors, but its flexible enough for people who want to work as Individual contributors as well. The next level to this is Level 6. it is a Project/People Manager role which may require you to manage multiple projects of varying complexity or a larger team of 7-15 people or both. I don't know your 11 years work-exp in detail, so can't comment if its appropriate for you just by the number. But hope this gives you some perspective to decide for your self..

Tax season, and I just noticed I have a household income of $700K. Guess how much we've saved? $0!!! $300K goes to tax - thanks to CA $60K goes to housing mortage, HOA, and tax $15K goes to travel & vacation $10K goes to BTS... Where did the rest of money go? NO IDEA... Looks like just dining and grocery stuff. I don't have even have kids, didn't buy any luxury brands last year.

Everyday I get squashed in meetings as a female minority analyst. I didn’t believe in sexism until I entered the workforce.

Someone once told me around age 26 is when your career either takes off or it flattens out to where you’ll be long term . Here I am at 27 and I’m not optimistic for my future. This sucks.

Will I ever be able to afford a home in SF? I made the terrible career decision of being born in 1997, and it seems just insurmountable to accumulate enough wealth (saving ~100k/year) as the boomers who’ve just sat on properties.

Can't speak to Deloitte culture but having been a partner at two firms I can say this would be an endless source of mockery amongst the partners.

FRIDAY FISHBOWL POLL: what would yall think about being super mega ambitious through your late 30s, build solid wealth and invest, then just get an entry level/individual contributor job to make some disposable income and coast hard into the sunset? Has anyone carved their life out in this type of path?

I am a Analyst in my 30’s and everyone else that I work with that is a Analyst is in their 20’s fresh out of school. Have had setbacks in my career but trying to just stay optimistic and know that I will have better opportunities. I can’t help but feel embarrassed at times because of my age and the position I am in.

I had a realization of how privileged we all are. I hate the caste system we all play between firms. Yes some people make more money at different firms but at the end of the day, everyone here is well above the median income and can provide for a family and have a good life. Blessed for that
