Help...my 6 mos old demands not simply to be held constantly but to also be carried around. He is only happy on his playmat or jumpy for 10 min max and then demands to be picked up. If you stop walking he begins to fuss. Days without nanny are becoming pointless voids of time and leave spouse and I with tired arms. I actually look forward to diaper changes as they are more fun. Is this normal? And if so, how long does it last? Anything I can do? Do I just let him cry and he grows out of it?

Expecting our first in about 6-8 weeks. Both my wife and I work at places with strong parental leave policies. We are considering staggering our leaves (I’d take a couple weeks right when the baby is born, then go back to work until her leave runs out, then go out) to save $$ on child care.
