Not at all, I would bet your husband would really appreciate being given some not-so-subtle hints. That's not materialistic at all in my opinion. You're making it so he doesn't waste money on things you don't want or like at all.

Agreed!!! You’re saving this man time and money!
Send him links! My husband is the exact same way. He wants to spoil me and give me gifts, but he doesn't understand what I want. To be honest, I'm a little picky. I have a running wish list of things that I like with links so that if he ever wants to surprise me, he knows what to get. It's not materialistic at all; in fact, it's way more efficient because he's not wasting money on things you don't want.

Love this! And I’m sure he appreciates you removing the guesswork for him
I would do anything for my husband to buy me ANYTHING! So yes, I think it is wrong to send links. The fact that your man is putting effort into buying you socks he thinks you'll like because they made him think of the beach is absolutely adorable and many women would give anything to have their spouse be so considerate. I would be rocking those socks and loving every sip of my morning coffee if I were you.

Now unless your husband is no longer with us or physically unable to get you a gift…….. he can do so as well. If he’s walking around healthy girl stop being a pick me. This awful gift giving is bordering on weaponized incompetence. He can get her something thoughtful that she will appreciate. He just needs a nudge.
I think it best to lean toward dropping hints. Sending him links of things you like is a little direct. But if you happen to mention things you like, or start up conversations about them, or mention you saw something you thought was great, he'll probably pick up on that. He may not be offended by getting links sent to him, but it's good to give him some latitude to learn and respond without it being too heavy-handed.

What do you mean OP? He was hinting at the crappy gift he was buying? 😩
Make a list! I usually ask for a spa gift card 🤷🏼♀️

Oooh spa gift card. Love it! Thx!

Either send him three links if he’s really obtuse or a more subtle option would be pick up his phone around gift giving holidays and just say what you want a few times every couple days. He will get ads everywhere for the gift you have in mind.

OP, how old are your kids? I randomly saw a post the other day about how a woman said when she was a child her mom would take her to the store and she would pick out the exact gift she wanted and show her daughter.
When dad would ask for her help shopping for mom, she would pick out exactly what her mom had shown her.
Mom would be happy, daughter would get praised by dad for knowing mom so well and being a great shopper, helping him look good, and he was none the wiser. If I find it I’ll post it here for you.
