It was brought to my attention today that the associate I am training to take over my old role, I promoted out of, received a higher merit title than me and 13k higher base salary. The role I am in now is higher level on the org chart, and this new associate has 0 sales experience - they transitioned into this role from a technician role. It is expected of me to train this associate and show him the ropes.. but he is making substantially more.. how would you handle?
