I was on the phone with a healthcare client and they said the “solution architect from BCG was working on pricing” for a database platform. What?! Is BCG trying to be an SI like a Cap or ACN?
I am a project/program manager type with strategy and implementations exp, mostly in healthcare. I am interviewing for a solution architect role on Monday. Does this even make sense? I have an MBA and PMP. The program manager role has been filled, but the recruiter insists I interview for a senior SA role. Should I pass? Don’t want to embarrass myself for lacking tech skills.
I am an Anaplan solution architect / implementation specialist. Considering outside positions but want to make sure of fair market value, I am hearing between 120-140k, benefits + bonus. Sound right?
When you’re comparing offers how you put a value against benefits like vacation allowance? Just calculate the value of a paid day as a % of base?
I should be more sensitive but I think it's fucked up to start a new job and tell your boss after a week that you will be out on maternity leave in 4 months.
What are the benefits to rolling over a 401k as opposed to leaving it as is after switching firms?
Been doing a lot more 401k biz and want to eventually do that alone. Want to complement the 401k with group DI/group life. Is it possible with smaller companies? What about group life? Any experience?
Noob question: how can I know my tax rate when i retire and start withdrawing money from 401k?
How do y’all distribute your 401k contributions? Evenly spaced to meet the max throughout the year or frontload contributions to get the money invested ASAP and hopefully make gains sooner?
Any financial advice for us younger professionals who have not weathered a recession? I’m nearly three years out of college and it freaks me out to see my (small) 401k losing thousands of dollars.
I can’t bring myself to justify paying $1600 for the Herman Miller Embody. Anyone here who can attest to its value and longer term benefits?
22 year old new to consulting/retirement planning. What is your target retirement $ amount? How much of that is saved for healthcare.
Question. I have an older friend who was newly contracted through an off brand firm who lost their contract for the NCS. They are offering him a transfer to the winner of the contract, but for a lesser salary (they said he's too expensive). They said he could also instead transfer to an independent contractor, for a 30-35% increase in salary, but no benefits or paid leave etc. Hourly salary, but much higher wage as a trade off. He's nearing retirement and doesn't care as much about benefits.
Asking for personal finance help. I’m contributing about $7.5k/year to my 401k based on my budget/spending. About to get lump sum of cash (sold car, tax returns, stimulus). Was thinking of just putting a little aside in cash for rainy day and invest the rest in brokerage acct., but would it make more sense to max out my 401k for tax purposes and use the lump sum as spending $ until it runs out? Currently 27 yr old, 73k salary in NYC, no debt, $10k in EM fund, maxed out Roth IRA for 2021. TIA
Anyone at Accenture take paternity leave? Policy says 8 weeks @100% pay if primary caregiver, and 2 weeks @100% pay if secondary caregiver. What defines primary caregiver? Anyone get the 8 weeks?
How are ATKs benefits?
Leaving firm soon, any advice on rolling over 401k, HSA and wealth builder? How does this work? This is my first career jump.
Has anyone recruited for consulting through a non-mba masters? I’m thinking of going back for a master’s in health management to rerecruit for healthcare consulting.

Starting the CFP in January... gonna use a scheduled, 11 month program through dalton. Any advice?
What is the best way to leverage experience to raise the starting salary? And Has anyone finished an internship and asked for more before starting?
Was approached by Accenture for a principal role. Any insight on comp? Base/total. Glassdoor gives a pretty wide range of 183-268 base...
I may be paranoid - I have been having a runny, congested nose, with occasional sneezing. It got worse this evening. No other symptoms. I just saw midwife today and didn’t think much of it until this evening when it felt worse. They took my temperature there-no fever. Anyone have pregnancy rhinitis? Scared it’s Covid but I could also likely be overreacting.
Is it okay to follow up with HR about the salary negotiation progress? As I have not yet accepted the offer and it might expire.
Just received an offer at an international crypto exchange. Peace out big 4 consulting ✌🏻
W Hi Fishes, wanted to know what is the market standard salary for a Consultant Process Transformation role with experience in Intelligent Automation
By close of eyes is not a reasonable time for any deliverable to be due. You work from home not 24/7. Let’s normalize standard working hours; if work isn’t done within eight to nine hours in day then it’s time for evaluate systems, if all those Zoom calls were necessary and staff utilization.
ACN folks when do we find out about the compensation part of the PA results? I am going to be out of the country from Friday till December 1st with almost no internet access.
Why do we always hear “follow the money” when it comes to exit ops and new positions? Is there an additional lesson or reason for this rule of thumb outside of the obvious?
Got an informal offer to join a client (manufacturing company). 240k base, 60k cash bonus target (can shrink or double depending on company metrics) + 50k annual equity (3 yr rolling vesting). Director level which has just one additional layer between me and the Exec Committee. My contact already internal negotiated extra vacation and is working on my behalf for a signing bonus. Is it worth trying to negotiate base? Or is this already a strong offer?
Are there any CA family law firms looking to contract out work (legal research, drafting briefs, disclosures, forms, discovery, etc.)? I have over 6 years of experience and am well-versed in family code and case law. (My attorney is on family leave so we don't have the workload I'm used to right now, and my husband might be switching jobs with a pay cut, so it wouldn't hurt to earn some extra money.)
Got soft locked today to my next project. I wrap up current one tomorrow then am off 2 weeks for pto. I have no desire to get back to the grind and want to turn this down "politely" without burning bridges. Any advice?
I feel violated - stepdaughter asked me and my husband to ensure that we’re Covid free prior to traveling to visit her. I assured her we are vaccinated and limit contact with others. A few days later I learned she took her entire family to a sport event where people tested positive for Covid. It seems hypocritical.
4,000 PQM from requalifying for gold with United for 2020. How much does it cost to buy PQMs? Is it worth it?
Can you get a raise and promotion out of cycle?
