Advice on taking the SHRM-SCP exam? I’m taking the exam tomorrow and not feeling as prepared as I should. Who has taken the SCP exam? How difficult did you find it?

So I work as an assistant manager at a restaurant for the past 9 months. I've worked in restaurants for the past 6 years science I was 16. Now I'm 22. I went to a trade school for media and film. I got a dream opportunity to work in the field making about the same or 10% more. I told myself the only reason I'd leave this company is for this type of job. Should I take the chance at this job and leave the restaurant that is on the rise and growing?

Kinda want to leave to start my own firm. Unsure of timing but sometime in the next few years. I’d have experience in tax and assurance but to those who start their own firm, what were your greatest hurdles?

How well does Stern’s part-time program place into tech? Currently a tech Consultant and am wondering if that may be enough to get into product management

I got a call from them to switch to product based company after completing ther well guided course.
Has someone went through this and got selected in any product based company or have some idea if this is really going to help me career wise?

My work just had a retreat and I felt so out of place and uncomfortable. I tried to talk to people but was pretty much ignored and honestly it was really stressful for me, and the reason I chose a remote role was to avoid this.

Now we have yet another one with triple the amount of people, a 12-hour flight away. I have to be with them for 2 days straight and would have to room with someone I don’t know.

How do I not attend this and not seem like I’m not a “team player”?

My company is seeking to create employee resource groups and would like to use the word tribes to use them, as it is an alliteration to our company name, but also the definition means a group of people from the same community/culture. I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. I feel like once I mentioned my pregnancy I was in a holding pattern.
