I've always wanted to practice a certain type of law. It was my focus in law school, I even received a certificate in it when I graduated. But I ended up doing other type of work at my firm. I just accepted it as I wasn't super motivated to work out of my comfy practice group. Well, now I'm not happy and I want to get back to why I went to law school originally. How realistic is it for me to step into a different practice group after 6 years of practice? Am I being silly?

Why not! People pivot all the time. You might take a class cut etc. I pivoted 4 years in by getting an llm

I pivot from criminal law to data privacy. Do it now.

What practice area is it?

I pivoted around the 6 year mark! Whether you need to change firms to do it though will totally depend on your firm’s dynamic.

Scores consider the number of accounts that are paid as agreed. Your score was impacted because the number of these accounts is too low, or because you've missed payments recently on some of your accounts.

Anyone have any reliable free resources (CLEs, practice guides) for tax law and estate/probate/wills? I don’t have the money for anything paid, but I’d like to selfstudy these areas in the meantime. My state bar and libraries don’t appear to have a practice series or anything like that, so it’s been hard finding something viable other than the ole’ Google and pray.
