Currently an A3 in assurance. I have two job offers: senior financial analyst (FP&A role) and senior accountant. Similar pay (a little over 40% raise), similar benefits. Will taking one of the offers limit me to just those types of roles going forward or would there still be an opportunity to do the other later on?
Advice needed: looking to leave public accounting and tax for good. I have two offers between a financial analyst and an accountant role. Based on your experience, which of the two has the best/better exit opportunities (should I decide to pursue the finance realm or something else) and better work life balance? The bigger pay as an analyst is tempting, but the company benefits are meh.
Recently promoted to senior auditor and I am interested in becoming financial analyst. Can anyone give an advice? Experience, requirement, potential for growth, benefits, etc. What can be a good qualification to develop?
I’m looking at a financial analyst role with a healthcare company that involves modeling and diligence work in their M&A process, as the are looking to grow. Along with working on month end financial closing for the company. Would this be good enough experience to work my way into a transaction advisory practice down the road?
What else can I do with an accounting degree? I want to get out of audit and have no desire to be a staff accountant or financial analyst. 1.5 years of experience. I was thinking benefits consulting?
What do you invest in if you’ve already maxed out 401k and HSA and don’t qualify for IRA?

I'm having trouble finding my first job as a healthcare manager. After submitting many applications and receiving so many rejection emails, I've become frustrated. Any advice anyone can give is greatly appreciated.
What is the deal with Chief? The private network for women in leadership. I see it blowing up on LinkedIn. What are the benefits?
Question for BCG fishes - I'm interviewing at BCG as an experienced hire for a Project Leader role. My consulting experience over the last 7 years has been focussed on a particular industry i.e. Financial Institutions, and I'm interviewing for a role within this team. Does that mean that the case studies in my interviews will be 'Financial Institutions' specific? Or could they be from any industry (e.g. Healthcare, Retail, Oil & Gas, etc)? Thanks!

Anyone think it’s bullshit that Reservist/Guardsman don’t get to collect their pension until age 60? AND get paid less than the AD pension? At least one or the other come on.
To my Deloitte colleagues: I just returned from maternity leave, and while I’m very grateful I was able to stay home with baby for 6 months I’m really anxious about returning and my utilization (50% now). Our RM is really slow and says we have a lot of new projects but hasn’t assigned me to one. I am doing trainings but not billing, and I don’t believe I’ll be staffed next week or the next either. Have reached out to a partner for extra work but haven’t heard back. Afraid I’ll get fired.
It’s time for a change. I have spruced up my resume and am ready to fire it off! Any healthcare folks care to shoot me a referral? Applying to Huron and ECG soon, but open to others!
What would you consider a fair amount to charge client to mange their Employer sponsored investments for them i.e, 401K/403B etc. I was thinking somewhere in the 50 bps or $750 annual range.
Preparing for Huron’s healthcare consulting associate behavioral interview. What to expect?

Hi! A question for you beautiful peeps on the brand side of things: what sort of groups and orgs do you use to network?
I co-founded an experience design studio & consultancy at the beginning of this pandemic (nasty coincidence - AMA) and we’re having trouble connecting with peeps beyond our current rolodex. Where should we be sticking our heads in this crazy pandemic world to find you? We’re eager to help! We actually have offerings for medium and small sized business too.
I’ve been a paralegal since I graduated five years ago. I absolutely cannot take it anymore. I’m tired of my time being wasted in jobs that use me at admin. I have worked on contracts in Capital markets for IB and now work on general commercial matters but I can’t be in what a colleague referred to as the just the tip equivalent of the Legal profession. My mental health has been a disaster since and I am desperate to leave but don’t know what to do.
Can anyone recommend any good professional resume writers, so that I can work with them to fix mine ?
Does anyone else get really upset when they see the kids at their school being yelled at by adults for such tiny things? Kids make mistakes. It hurts my heart when these little mistakes get blown into embarrassing and scary moments for them - I swear I can still remember that feeling in the pit of my stomach from when I was little. I know it can be frustrating but let's normalize giving kiddos a little grace to mess up sometimes without shaming them or screaming at them.
Anyone feel frustrated at times with the super aggressive sales personalities we deal with? My AE is always pushing on every ask no matter how minuscule it is. My vp is super anal about anything we do. I understand these guys pull in huge commissions and bonuses that’s why they are so motivated. However what I personally feel is they just nag us until we do the job according to their spec. Just venting……anyone else feel the same?
I'm a Communications major and a Management major. I have a Marketing concentration and a System Information & Business Analytics concentration. I accomplished this in 4 years and will be graduating this semester.

Human-Centered Design is (unfortunately) a consulting buzz word these days. How do you all feel about this? Is your firm doing right by HCD, or is just another thing in a big bag if things they use to bill hours?

S1 audit at a midsize firm looking out of public accounting.. my biggest thing right now is having a better work life balance. I hate the busy season hours and just looking for a way out.
I’ve been looking into internal audit but i know that could be boring.. not sure what other fields would suit someone of my experience.
Is it just me or with the rise of attacks on "essential workers", it's scary nowadays to work a public-facing job? I've seen so many videos of workers getting attacked for doing their job, some of them have even lost their lives.
Is it too early to go in-house as a second year? A great opportunity to go in-house doing general corporate work came across and both the company and I are interested in one another. However, would it derail my future prospects in big law if I decide to go back to a firm in the future?
Received 2 job offers, one ~10k lower than the other, but still a >30% increase in my current pay. I think the lower in paying job fits me better , is it ok to counter offer asking for more? Do companies usually have wiggling room for this?
Does anyone else have this issue?
My head feels “full” a lot—especially in the morning. I take allergy medicine (I have terrible seasonal allergies), and I sleep a solid 7-9 hours per night. I also stay well hydrated and exercise. It’s not pain—it just feels like a full feeling, especially between my eyebrows. I’m guessing it might be my sinuses. Anyone else deal with this and have any tips?
