I’m looking into a potential career path in Healthcare Finance. I’m wondering what it takes to advance over Sr. Financial Analyst position in Healthcare setting.

Currently an A3 in assurance. I have two job offers: senior financial analyst (FP&A role) and senior accountant. Similar pay (a little over 40% raise), similar benefits. Will taking one of the offers limit me to just those types of roles going forward or would there still be an opportunity to do the other later on?

Advice needed: looking to leave public accounting and tax for good. I have two offers between a financial analyst and an accountant role. Based on your experience, which of the two has the best/better exit opportunities (should I decide to pursue the finance realm or something else) and better work life balance? The bigger pay as an analyst is tempting, but the company benefits are meh.

I’m looking at a financial analyst role with a healthcare company that involves modeling and diligence work in their M&A process, as the are looking to grow. Along with working on month end financial closing for the company. Would this be good enough experience to work my way into a transaction advisory practice down the road?

Potential offers incoming from Gartner (AE), Salesforce (BDR), and a promising SaaS start up (BDR). Currently an AM at a IT services and staffing org. Want to get away from staffing regardless, but want to stay within technology. Unsure how to rank each opportunity.
Gartner lacks technology but I feel the skills I could learn would be invaluable and be a great resume add. Anyone ever been in the same boat? Or know how the benefits for SF and Gartner stack up?

How good are your districts at negotiating contracts on time? Ours expire every two years. At the end of the second year we always end up going into the next school year on an expired contract and work almost the entire school year on that expired contract. It’s not that we are asking for the moon, usually our raise is about the same as the rising price of healthcare, so it ends up being a wash. The workload only increases. The district also made us put in a “no strike” clause in our contract.

Hello Everyone - Looking for advice from Deloitte practitioners! I am a specialist senior at Deloitte, got back from maternity leave in April 2020. I had my offering leader schedule a call with me to notify that I have been rated a low performer because I had 46% utilization and mediocre firm contribution scatterplot. My project scatterplots have been consistently good 5,5(top right) over the last 3 years. Do they not consider these things before rating someone as low? Feeling very low!

Need advice - I currently have 2.5-3 YOE (depending if u count internships) and $180 TC. I’ve recognized the pay is pretty high and industry jobs won’t come near it for my amount of experience. If I stay in consulting another ~2 years and get to Manager level by then, would industry firms be more open to hiring me for a $180-200k role? FWIW I’m mostly looking at healthcare non-pharma.

I’m almost done with my MBA but I’ll have to take out a loan to pay the last bit of it. I’ve paid about $30k out of pocket and I’ll have $18k that I’ll have to take a loan out for. I have a brokerage account that has $10k in it. Would it make sense to pull that money out to pay for the majority of what I have left or to just get a loan? I’m meeting with my FA in the summer but am just curious for other opinions. Keep in mind I make $53k and I have a 401k, Roth IRA, and traditional IRA as well.

Anyone else realize that the only reason people put up with the business model of public accounting is that we all worked together and could complain together, stay up late together all while forgetting that we are working 80+ hours in addition to a commute. Then when the pandemic hit, we opened up our eyes to the actual work itself and how much time we spent at work and getting to and from work? This is the reason why all firms want staff back in the office so they can create that again?
