I've gotten so behind on various little tasks that tend to go forgotten until they're not and by then I'm in too deep. I'm not really authorized to bring work home with me, should I just do it anyway to get ahead or ask for overtime?

Take the time to knock them out. Those little things tend to creep up.

Get in the practice of getting them out the way so they do not become a reoccurring issue. This is something I had to learn especially reporting to a number of micromanagers over the course of my career, where every trivial error or omission was as punitive as sexual harassment. There was no in between.

So I guess it really boils down on your leadership, how transparent you can be with them, and if they are willing to support you and compensate you for getting caught up, and maybe help with training to avoid these pesky tedious things that may be a low priority one day but high priority to someone who has absolutely no grasp on what you do for the company.

I’d start documenting how long it takes for you to execute tasks to determine if it’s you or the process that’s causing the issue. Numbers don’t lie.

I hope this helps.

Find your barometer. Take ownership if needed. Gauge the response you receive and it will tell you all you need to know on how to operate going forward. I often tell myself “never give them a reason,” if I receive feedback on what ever perceived transgressions. I don’t minimize it, I just make sure I don’t ever let it happen again within reason.

I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.

Hi..

I've been approached for a Manager - Technical Consulting position at Salesforce India.

How are the technical rounds on a quotient of 1-10(1 being very less and 10 being extremely technical)?
Should I prepare for something specifically?

And what is the current package provided by Salesforce for the same position?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Can anybody share some advice on how to get an attorney job overseas? What resources are available for American attorneys considering a move internationally? I’ve been out of school for a few years now and have government as well as big law experience in antitrust and data privacy. I would consider a change in practice, government work, or NGO work.

I am prior military and went to law school. I had a family to take care of while I was a student, hence I went as fast as possible to get to a paycheck, graduating in 2 years, and bypassing the standard summer clerkships. How could I get some experience strictly remote? I am w-2 working as an accountant in healthcare, have passed the bar and am working on my CPA license (studying starts at 3 am, then work FT). I would like to eventually hang a shingle as a tax lawyer, but need experience. TIA!

How important is campus design and office aesthetic, and general internal branding and experience to you when choosing a job?
