Go with a vinyl fence. It will last a lot longer, won't rust, easy to clean and probably about the same price point. You can diy it or pay someone.
Plus there are so many styles, and you can choose different heights, widths and even spacing between posts.
How busy is your street/neighborhood. We don’t have a fence and have never had a problem. We prefer the openness.
It’s a cul de sac so no extra traffic, just we caught a few back door neighbors walk in our backyard to smoke!
If you have an hoa, check your covenants. Most hoas will not allow a chain link fence under any circumstances
