Can’t imagine having to deal with that. If that’s the culture it won’t change. Careers are long. I’d find someplace that checks both (a) good platform to build my career and (b) I enjoy working there and like my colleagues boxes.
Reminds of my Accenture Song days. Left them in 1.5 because of the toxic culture.
Based on you thriving, You are too good for them. Watch your back.
I had a similar experience at Accenture Song. Seems to be quite rampant there and accusations of misconduct and retaliation seem to be the norm if they don’t like someone. It all sits with the leadership who allows such behaviors and nurtures such culture.
Document everything. Sounds like they will find a way to target you so you should also be proactive in your job search.
Haven’t seen this in my world at Accenture (not part of Song), but business is still surprisingly good so everyone taking care of each other on credits/people.
Joined after the 08/09 crises and heard the behavior was less than collegial though- so at least in my patch the culture “recovered” lets hope we don’t revert but all in all love my function and industry peers so expect a better outcome.
Sorry OP- worked in financial services a long time ago and this was the norm- people spent more time scheming than the actual business :(
Leave and find a new shop
Spill the beans… Which shop? And yes, leave this place
Same with a practice I recently worked. Former Accenture guy used to run it .
Yes
I’ve seen this at MBB as well. Especially now when times are tough. Some people just want to beat on their peers for real and perceived sleights
Sad to see this is happening at McKinsey as well.
Why not share the place so we can all avoid it
