Okay, what are everyone's thoughts on having all your things stuffed in a box and put on your table when the company has decided to lay you off? On one hand, I'm thankful that the work has been done for me, but on the other, I find it so insulting. I was told I was going to be let go, and when I went to my desk, all my belongings were in a box .... I don't know how I feel about this. Is this common practice, and I'm just getting emotional about something I don't have the right ot get so riled up about?

I think it's common practice but yeah, I felt the same way. I was like how dare they touch my stuff. And how do they know which of them are mine? Well, I had all my stuff labelled so I guess it was easy for them. It's just not a fun feeling. I get you.

That's pretty rude, but it's not completely unheard of. I'd known of people who were walked out of the building by security and their stuff was boxed up and shipped to them. My general rule was never to have anything really personal or valuable to me in the office anyway, so it wouldn't bother me all that much. But I could understand someone being insulted and angered by it.

Insult to injury, in my opinion. I can see it’s nice not to have to do it and be on my way faster, but I still hate the idea of somebody else going through my stuff. Really no easy way to get laid off, no matter how it goes.

I find that to be really rude honestly. I get that companies have to do layoffs but they didn't need to do that to you. I am really sorry that happened.
