Absolutely. You should definitely advocate for yourself. I think it's an entirely valid reason and it's not like you're asking for the world. Explain your commute and how it's impacting your life and productivity.
It's definitely reasonable. That's a miserable commute, having to do it an extra day each week for seemingly no reason is worth trying to push back against. I'd ask but wouldn't get my hopes up. Most managers don't like making exceptions, even when there's a legitimate reason to ask for one.
I say go for it. Worst they can say is no, but at least they’ll know where you’re coming from. And if you position it as a way to stay more productive and less mentally drained, it’s a smart, professional move.
Might as well try, I’ve found it to be very manager-dependent on what they allow where I’m at. Have had one that allowed 1-2 in-office days, and then others are 5 days or the highway.
Yikes that is a lot and that is a long commute. I used to commute 45 minutes one way and it was awful. I hated it so I can't imagine doing an hour. I would definitely request that.

Can you have your therapist or primary physician ask for the accommodation for you? That would get it. From an GR perspective

Sounds reasonable.
