My team is drowning. We’ve done all we can - process mgmt , project data, discussions with leaders. The fact is, there’s not enough support. Designers doubling in html world, & vice versa. No outsourcing.

I was told “make a plan” restructure, hires, —more balance. Then “we don’t have the $, no hires”. However, a new C level was hired on our side (same budget) but not marketing — no transparency. Any thoughts? I was told work will only increase…trying to lead gracefully & manage questions

So, not for writing.

More work should mean more money. Sounds like they’re squeezing blood from a stone. Find out how much scope has increased and make a business case for spending some of that dough on actually getting the work done. Otherwise, ask for freelance help to get you over the hump.

I’m available.

So they say hire and then not hire? If there is more work than people, not a lot will change that if you can’t come up with efficiencies somewhere. The work is usually the work. What is adjustable is quality, completeness, customization, etc.

CD3 is correct. Something has to be prioritized. Quality, speed or cost. You can’t give the client all 3. For example, if they want cheap it can be fast and medium quality. If they want fast the cost goes up. They want top quality, then cost goes up and time goes up.

Tough to say without looking under the hood myself but certainly work with upper management to prioritize your workload. Having a project management tool in place keeps work on track and proves how much extra work is going on and how much one can handle. It’s proof that more help is needed. It also provides our clients an understanding of all that’s going on and helps them understand where their project stands in the queue. Revision cycles are also a time killer. We “ pre-approve” content so that we are doing less redesign work. You could also try hiring a “temp” at the very least to help you catch up and possibly try them out. It might even lead to management liking and hiring the person. Sometimes internally we think every piece of creative needs to be a new design, maybe it doesn’t or can wait. It’s like everyone has ADD because of social media.

My fiancé and I invested in a small startup about five years ago and are about to get a $300,000 pay out (after taxes). What would you do with an extra $300k? (We have no debt, have sufficient savings and own a home already so the basics are covered.)

I revised my CTC from JPMC before joining. Now in 1-1 discussion my manager told very nice things about me but also told me that my CTC is already above market standards for my experience and tech stack. He told that they won't be able to justify my pay and gave me SOO. How much is the hike and bonus for SOO rating?

Paralegals: My firm is looking for a paralegal, and I see the job posting advertising the salary as $65-$75k, with benefits. Is this a good salary for a paralegal (Greater LA area)? I’m not the decision maker, but it’s been a few weeks with very few applicants. I’m curious if there’s something hurting the firm in its search.
