How did PWC and Deloitte handle layoffs this year? Just curious in terms of how and when? EY layoffs have been quite sneaky!
Gotta love how Peloton laid off 2500 employees to lower their overhead then generously gave them free 1 Year subscriptions to boost their numbers before a buyout. 🤦♂️😡
Will the upcoming WSJ article on PwC layoffs make it too obvious to our future employers that we got laid off? 🙁
In today’s client meeting there were at least 5 times that I was imaging the following:
1. Interrupt the clients and say “shut up, that is the most stupid thing I’ve heard of”
2. Tell the clients in their face “you’re fired”
3. And tell the partner “Sorry, I quit”
But instead, I smelled and said “that is an interesting idea. Let us think about it and come back to you”
Projects are sized with an aggressive timeline. However clients will take their time to respond, meet since they know they won’t get fired easily for not prioritizing the project (as they have the actual day job to focus on). How does Partner just blindly accept this fact and still want an aggressive timeline? On paper they’d say it’s client issue but still want it done ‘on time’, on budget.
Soo as I scroll my feed I see a headline saying, " PWC facing 3 major trials that threaten its business that can break the firm." Is that explaining all the layoffs?
If I were to be laid off, I'd stand to receive ~2400 / month for 26wks in unemployment if you don't include the CARES ACT increase. Really my only fixed expense is rent at 1350 + utilities. Immoral
Do you think it is quite possible to get fired by asking too many questions as an experienced senior 1? If so, i might get fired after this busy season.
Laid off after Thanksgiving. 54. Not done yet. Plenty to offer. In Detroit but ready and able to move anywhere. AD/CD. Hangin in there. How bout you?
I just found out I’ll be getting laid off in a month. I’ve contemplated freelancing for a while but haven’t worked on more than 1-2 small clients at a time on the side of work. How do I know when it’s the right time to take the plunge into freelancing?
Anyone here familiar with the hiring process of KPMG consulting in Van? Had a partner interview on Nov 21, thought the feedback was positive but haven't heard back yet (no rejection/offer). Is it something normal or the interview just didn't go as well as I thought?
It's an experienced hire for an SC role. I saw the posting is still open atm, and my guess is that the recruiting team is comparing candidates since competition is higher due to recent layoffs.
Thanks in advance!
Got laid off but found a job. Unfortunately I can’t start for like 2 months. Any ideas on jobs I could do in the meantime? Can’t drive so no Uber. Willing to do minimum wage, anything will help
8+ people were fired at Booz Allen Hamilton Middle East today!
Wondering how other firms are doing!
Deloitte people. I confirm layoffs of 4 ranked individuals and this year it's been hard rankings. Many 3s forced into 4. I was on the calls. Beware. Not trying to scare. Sharing facts.
Is ACN recruiting on hold and/or have/had layoffs? I interviewed but things then just stopped.
What exactly is the "change in strategy" at Deloitte that people are using to explains the layoffs?
Are there any restrictions for federal employees (non-sensitive role) from buying stocks or using robo-advisors like Wealthfront?
Need hearts to active DM .
Anyone here looking for an accounting manager in industry? I have five years of experience including regional firm, Big 4, and industry. Recently, I moved into consulting but it’s a bit uncertain with trying to get clients, plus I’m ready for management. Looking mainly for a small private or public company in retail, media, advertising, publishing. Thank you! I’m in Dallas, but open for remote work!
My old job was a shitshow that made me want to die. But on some weird, strange level I miss it.
My new job is amazing and I love it, but I guess it just feels like going to bed with another woman. 🤔

Partner says to employees things like this:
- Yes fix it in the product, I’ve mentioned this like 3 times already!
- You don’t listen! You never listen! Focus!
- I don’t like that you don’t have precision I refuse anything less than perfect
And all these remarks are towards women in the team.
He’s operating as managing partner taking on more or less product management, while we have a senior product manager on the team that he cripples(a female)
Help, many have threatened to quit!! What to do?
For those of you required to be in office- do people use the phone and email to contact you or do they still come by in person? People in my office seem not to understand how the phone works...
Can anyone recommend a new workout regimen or new spot that they love for working out? I need a lot of accountability so prefer a program or strong-knit community. I'm in WeHo but willing to travel
How much are/were you making at 28?
Approved by doctor/HR to remain remote and it’s not going over well( we were told we would remain remote, which included giving up our desks, but are now being asked to come in two days). The person who seemed the most annoyed by my request is my direct boss. I found it odd because she announced she was only doing one day because she was pregnant and the director was basically like “ok”. I don’t want to put a target on my back and I do enjoy the work. Should I just bite the bullet and come in?
Did anyone travel to Canada via Niagara for activating PR. Is it safer to go by road or by a flight? My current h1b stamping expires in few months

Lot of volatility after Fed. Nasdaq 100 is strong. Other indexes are hurting. We are trading a new set of extensions on NW. Last night, bullish above 9961. What was our low at 6:00 AM? 9960. Today, new extension traded 10080.50, held the 61.8% line, and then hit new highs. We then fell back for a 2nd test at the end of the day. That is where we sit. If we break the extension, and don't come back, market is in trouble. If we hold here, Tech and NQ roll higher. Bullish Above 10065.25.
