there’s this weird line between being a team player and quietly letting yourself get overlooked. and im now starting to feel frustrated.

at what point do you advocate for yourself?
when do you speak up and say “I deserve more” without it coming off wrong?

do you wait until your review? In the moment? Or just wait until your manager notices?
I feel like no one really teaches you how to do this without feeling awkward or dramatic.

I went through six rounds of interviews including putting together a 30 minute presentation which I presented to the whole team. The whole process took about six weeks. I turned down another lead position at a different company waiting. After all that they told me that hiring for this role was on hold until further notice. At the end of the day it’s business, but I am left feeling like I wasted my time (and theirs.)Totally confused and disheartened by this process. Anyone else experiencing this?
