Anyone else have a love/hate relationship with NOAA?

Any tips for organizing a bedroom, closet, dresser & bathroom? My teen has IADHD, and low executive functioning. Her room looks like a land mine. Clean clothes are mixed in with dirty, her desk is a disaster, she won’t let go of clothes she’s outgrown, drawers are open with clothes hanging out. A therapist said to close her door if we don’t want to see it but it’s more than that. She needs this important life skill & I don’t know how to help. Easier to organize w/o her but that’s not a solution.

Anyone else really feeling the social isolation this weekend? It’s been almost a month since I saw another person (re-entering more stringent lockdowns where I am) and not being able to see family for the holidays is hitting hard. The break from work was much needed, but made me realize work is the most consistent contact I have with people (phone calls/chat messages during the day) and without it I somehow feel more alone. Fck this year!!!

So my wife and I both said we wanted kids (before we got married) then a couple years into marriage we both said we changed our minds and do not want them. Now, she’s thinking she may want them, she’s changed back. I have NOT, I still firmly think I do not want them. But what do we do now?

I feel like a champ today. I woke up late at 9:30 am, but billed 11 hours, managed to work out for 40 minutes, took a 1 hour break for coffee break in the evening and another 1 hour for dinner. Spoke to my family on FaceTime 2 times. Had a shower and washed my hair. Now waiting for my partner to come to bed. It’s late (1:30 am) but I’m reading a few pages of a book for the first time in forever. Tomorrow might be different but I’ll try to make it like today. I feel like a champ!

So I have a friend who likes to say “you don’t get your dream job, you make it” in response to my dissatisfaction with my job. I think i understand her intent but it never sat well with me. Today it finally hit me that, while it’s meant to be motivational in a “you are responsible for your own happiness” kind of way, it’s a little gaslighty as if positive thinking alone can change a toxic culture. Thoughts?

Poll on general attitudes towards open relationships? I’m in one and find that some folks are totally non-judgmental about it, while others are so vicious/rude about it. Curious about your opinions! I understand that every open relationship is different, and each couple defines their own arrangement/rules. For context, ours is a passive one that’s hardly acted on, but we both have Grindr and meet guys for fun on the very odd occasion (whether together or apart). If you’re in one, describe yours!

Tips for helping kids stay on task during zoom? Our little class (9 kids) has been doing zoom circle times twice a week but I noticed they are really distracted. Also every meeting a kid leave...

What do you guys do at the end of the day? I teach in a middle school self contained class. Grades 6 to 8. At 2 the kids come back from gym and then I have them until 4. By 2 they are ready to go home and at that time I need to teach civics or science and they are so not motivated. Any suggestions on how to make the last 2 hours more bearable? Thanks

Is a drama free extended family possible? Just curious if there’s anything I can do now to set the foundation for a relatively drama free extended family situation in 20-30 years. My current extended family, of which I am the youngest, is constantly fighting. I don’t interact with any of them, but there was a recent death in the family and remembering how toxic all of this was and is. In short, is there hope?

Looking for advice on personal space in a relationship. Been in thus relationship for 6 months. I date here and there but have not been in a serious relationship in a long time. Been working late M-F since COVID started. I usually call my gf after work or before I go to sleep and we talk for an hr or so each night. And on Fridays I go to her place right after work and stay the weekend. I’m finding a lack of my own time because it’s either work or her throughout the week and weekends...

As a new hire, how long did it take you to get a full plate of work? Meaning at least 7.5 billable hours per day.

I graduated with a degree in Business in 2018. I’m planning to pursue a Masters in Engineering (likely will pair with MBA) and have been taking the required pre-reqs over the last year from community college.

Is there a big difference between MEng and MS degrees? Or about the same?

I started off looking in going into Mechanical Eng but now looking more into Civil & Environmental.

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.
