Those of you who left Big Law for a boutique, have you had a positive experience or do you regret it?

I left big law for a tiny firm. Not sure if it can be considered boutique but it’s definitely a leader in a niche field in our region. The work is interesting and the people are nice. I’m not dealing with the same politics and BS I dealt with at the last firm. My weekends are mostly free, which is nice. My billable requirement is substantially lower, but so is my salary. I miss the money and I miss the certain degree of anonymity that you get in a large firm. Here, everything I do gets noticed, both the good (which they are quick to celebrate) and the bad (which they are quick to call out). I also miss the prestige and resources. And my old coworkers. Overall, I left a really toxic environment and I feel like I am in a much healthier place. But the expectations are just as high and sometimes I find myself being just as busy and making similar sacrifices for a lot less money. On those days, I question my decision. Overall, what I have learned is that law firm lifestyle is not for me. I’m grateful for this opportunity and I don’t plan to make any changes any time soon. But I can’t see myself billing and bending over backwards for clients for the rest of my life.

Bain & Company I received an offer to join Bain & Company for SF office but due to family reasons, I will have to stay in the South Bay. Given Bain’s local staffing model, it will be challenging for me to commute to SF and back. Is it possible to be transferred to the palo alto office/is that office fully functioning or does it mainly serve as a hub for partners and research?

Hi everyone, I had a major surgery and am looking to find a remote position involving anything that isn’t 100% commission based or cold calling/agent positions. Looking to make $25-35 an hour, and have had long term positions such as Clinical Secretary & Receptionist/Administrator, Accounts Payable Clerk, Team Lead, and Sales Associate. I’m willing to try new things and am a very quick learner, and can handle multitasking and high pace. Does anyone know of any good work from home positions?
