I have an interview tomorrow (maybe the final one?) with 3 people I’d be working with — other writers and a designer. It’s for an in-house role. Any thoughts on questions I should ask?
What's the procedure of applying Jobs at Mckinsey, BCG, Bain and other consulting firms? Need leads for a Senior Designer or Design Consultant role. Help is appreciated ✌️ WE:4.5 years
Question: I’m a designer - going to interview in person this week and just recently got locs done. A friend of mine was telling me how this isn’t a good idea because locs are too ethnic and not corporate looking enough for an interview. But I’m a designer. I do not work for corporate America. Should your hair style really matter that much for an interview?
I f**ed up my interview for a UX designer role at a 11-50 employees boutique company out of covid depression. They’ve been looking to fill that role for 3mo as far as I know. There’s now also a UI designer opening. Are my chances thin for either roles when I do apply?
Is it expected to prepare a deck to present your work/case studies for an interview? Or going through your portfolio is more the norm? I’m interviewing for a visual designer role for a design agency (product design/brand experience focus) but I come more from startup background so curious what’s the vibe like with agencies
Hi - I’m a jr. designer interviewing for a design role within an agency/consulting setting. The interviewer is a design director who recently worked at Huge. I come from a startup/product background and wondering if anyone have any general tips/insight - is it generally expected to prepare a deck to communicate my portfolio or running through my case studies in my site is good enough?
I have a second interview with a very well-known sports organization for a Junior Designer position. I’m meeting with the Designer and two other employees in different departments. How can I stand out and secure the job?
Hi Guys, I have a few questions - I recently cleared an interview with Deloitte for the role of UX designer consultant. Currently I am working with a startup. I have interviews scheduled with thermo fisher and Boeing. Would Deloitte be worth leaving the other opportunities? How much travelling would I have to do as a consultant? I really don't have anyone to guide me. I would be thankful for any response.
I have an interview at D for the Solution Designer role. How is this different from a Consultant? are they on the same level or is SD below C? Appreciate your responses :)
I have a PM interview coming up and the interviewer is a Product Designer. I’ve never interviewed with a Designer before, so I’m looking for guidance on what kind of things could be asked and suggestions on what/how to prepare. I assume they want to understand how I partner with design team, how I make/help make decisions, but this is high level. Can anyone share more specifics?
Why do job applications for art directors have way more requirements than copywriters these days? I’m sick of being expected to not only art direct and design, but to be the illustrator, animator, editor, 3D artist, UX/UI designer, etc. all while my copywriter friends snag interviews and gigs left and right with ease bc hiring managers just expect them to do the 1 job they’re supposed to do! I need a job and I’m so so so tired of it!
Question about interview process: I’m transitioning my career to product design and have been applying for a new role. I heard back from a recruiter for a product designer position and asked me to complete a design exercise. The thing is that I’ve not even had a phone interview yet. Is this normal? Also, how long should a design exercise take? The only thing I received is a list of prompts choose from. Thanks!
#advice #mentorship #creativedirectors Hello, business owners and creative community leaders. Since moving to SW Florida end of 2019, professional life has been a f*ckin doozy (for many of us.) For 15 years I’ve been an art director / brand / designer and can say I’ve done well. After many connections and interviews and tests and hoops I’m not getting hired. Feeling defeated, frustrated — bang head here! Any mentors / leaders that can advise a renewed jump to restart? Thank you in advance.
If a candidate that was interviewed is someone your product team loves but the candidate is concerned that they might not be able to be a Product Designer at a scaling company bc they are going back to school for a masters, is it best to fight to get the candidate still or cut them loose to prevent any challenges later?
I'm a budding UX Designer with no exp in the field besides one client project and some school ones. However, for 5+ years I've been a part of User Testing groups and have participated in user research interviews for different companies like Lions Gate, the Canadian Government, Pinterest, etc. I did it to make a little bit of pocket change, but it ended up teaching me about how user researchers collect data and what types of questions they ask. Would it be valuable experience to put on my resume?
I’ve been interviewing for an Interaction Designer role at Google. I’m at the design exercise stage, but still haven’t submitted it for weeks. Recruiter told me a month ago there was a finalist they might be able to close soon & they would update me if it's finalized. Since I haven’t gotten any messages or rejection emails since then, am I still in the running? Does Google auto reject candidates if they spend too much time on the exercise?
I applied to Deloitte for the Workday Solutions Designer role. Went through the entire interview process (3 rounds). Within 3 weeks, I heard from the recruiter saying that they wanted to give me an offer. However, my current company was their client and as per their contract, they wanted me to tell my company before they could hand out the offer letter. I agreed, but asked for more information about the contract (start date, salary, etc). Since then I've been ghosted. Whats going on?
A good friend of mine graduated from Parsons this past summer, has degrees in Journalism and French, and is a very talented photographer and designer. And I’m certain she’d make a fabulous junior AD or content strategist. Unfortunately she, like many in this pandemic, is having no luck finding a job despite applying for everything under the sun. It’s a tragic waste of potential and I want to help. Any advice for her or shops/hiring managers/non-traditional job hunt tips to steer her towards? 🤞🏼
I’ve been working with a startup for 2 months as a UX Designer - they are so unorganized so I’m wondering how I can show my process in a case study when they aren’t keeping track of metrics or KPIs or anything else because they are moving so fast. Any advice?
I have 2 YOE at Acn & in the Consulting Development Program. I’ve been a pmo analyst/scrum master/functional designer/created power bi data visualizations & am currently on a culture transformation project. I’d like to go to a start up or faang and I’ve applied to countless jobs but have gotten no requests for interviews. Any idea What could be the reason????
Junior level designer here with basically no agency experience, doing interviews at an agency for a short term freelance project and they’re asking me my hourly/day rates. What should i say?? What’s a reasonable amount of $ to ask for?

Deloitte 🐠 had my first round interview with the recruiter about a week back. She said she will get back to me with 2 days. Should I follow up now or it’s too soon.
Very young professional here - what is the etiquette for interviewing for jobs during the work day? Every place I look only offers times during working hours. I’m not sure if this is just normal / the way it is - how should I maneuver things respectfully?
Are interviews with a hiring manager generally the final round? Have the hiring manager interview soon but it’ll only be the second time speaking to someone at the company. It is a very small ~5 person group though.
Interviewing for a Deloitte risk advisory (IA) position and I’m really anxious. I have about 2.5 YOE at EY but I’m still nervous about answering questions incorrectly. What’s the best way to prep for interviews and what kind of questions can I expect them to ask me? I guess I’m not 100% confident since I still feel like I have a lot to learn about IA and internal control testing.
I’m in a confusing situation and would appreciate guidance - I had an Investment Bank reach out to me a few days ago and we’ve been scheduling “Intro” calls. They’re not specifically using the word “interview” in the conversation. I got yet another intro call scheduled with upper management and honestly don’t know how to prepare? Any tips on how to navigate the situation?
I’m applying for a new position. It says TAP certification is preferred. Where can I get that??
I have an interview tomorrow with an ECD at an agency that is showing some red flags. But I’m at an agency now that is just one giant red flag and is driving me crazy. Do I take the jump to the other agency (if they offer me the job) or stick it out at my current job and hope something with no red flags comes along?
Do Deloitte's case interviews involve math?
I'm meeting my HR next week after three years of working here, and that's for my exit interview.
Landed an on-site interview for a bulge bracket bank strategy role. Given that each interviewer has a one hour slot, should I be expecting multiple cases or just one long one?
Does anyone work full-time with ML or MS as an advisor? How difficult is it securing an interview with these firms? Are their training programs as extensive as EDJ's?
HBS, GSB and others notifying folks for Interviews. Good luck! Just remember these are “less” selective than gaining admission to Deloitte!
Interviewed first round but found I’d be indifferent whether I get next round or not. Should I still follow up with recruiter to check my status or only engage if they reach out?
Going into the 4th and potentially final interview for an assistant account executive role. Meeting with the VP group account director. Any advice on how to nail the interview and land the job?
During interviews and meetings - best way to deal with someone who constantly interrupts and talks over you when you’re answering questions?
Starting as a BB associate at 130k base. Expect 10k or 20k raises each year from here? Trying to model out my future earnings but didn't ask this while interviewing.
Has anyone interviewed for the Apple GSM role past the hiring manager round? If yes, would love to discuss about the interview process, the questions, and prep.
Anyone have experience with FDD at a B4 vs more of a specialized firm like A&M? I'd expect the latter to pay more, but curious if the deals worked on are actually different or there would be a diff vibe at an A&M tier. Trying to get out of audit, but not sure it's worth sticking in B4 since not feeling EY at the moment.
I am on H1b and my daughter is American Citizen (Minor) . Is she eligible for stimulus package ?
With the holidays coming up, partners and client relationship owners, do you get your clients gifts? Pre-COVID we sent treats to the office, but most of my clients are still home. Would it be appropriate to send gifts directly to them? If so, any ideas on things/price limits?

Recently had my opinion shut down because “as a white male, I was coming from a position of privilege and could not possibly understand”. Excuse me? My skin pigmentation has more bearing than any life experience, education and past hardships and condemns me to being inherently incapable of ever being able to grasp certain concepts?
I am an Google Cloud Data Engineer, but received an offer from Kpmg global services for an Devops role. I am in dilemma whether to take up the role or look out for Data Engineer role in other organizations. I'm in confused state that what if I am unable to deliver and stuck up alone?
How can I become more “okay” with being an average performer? I’m two years out of school and have been considered a high performer so far, but it’s taken a toll on my mental health and I feel anxious most days. I’ve realized that the cost of being a high performer outweighs the benefits, and am trying to loosen up and be more comfortable with coasting on occasion... I’m what people may consider an insecure overachiever. Has anybody here ever had the same feeling?
Urgent help! I didn’t work on R before, just basic knowledge. Now the company I’m interviewing for asked me to solve a supply chain optimisation case study on R and make a presentation. Any leads on how can I learn R by this weekend?
For those of you who went on mental health leave, how did you message it to HR and your team? Did you wait till your project ended first?
