As a general rule it's criminal convictions, driving record, and perhaps financial and credit history issues. Convictions related to fraud would probably stand out. So would multiple DUIs. If you had a history of financial instability that wasn't innocently explained (being laid off or whatever) that could raise red flags.
Thanks for your reply. I have a non-financial related misdemeanor (not convicted). It stopped me from a few health insurance carrier appointments a couple years ago. Another year til expunged.
I know this isn't part of background checks (I think Agent 1 covered it), but I think most insurance companies still do drug testing too. Just a heads up!
All good there! Thank you
I’ve heard other than criminal stuff they look for fraud, court judgements on non payment or bounced checks. It’s more to make sure there isn’t a moral issue.
Makes perfect sense as an agent with fiduciary responsibility! Thanks
They are mostly looking for criminal stuff and then depending on the department they may look into some of the financial stuff. Honestly every background check I have had to do no matter the industry was pretty much the same.
