What are the high paying STEM jobs (total comp incl say bonus and equity) in the middle mgmt layer besides being a doctor here? I am not seeing any jobs with high pay packages in the leagues of big tech on the west coast or financial services in NYC/Boston/Chicago? One option is consulting but that's what I'm looking to get out. Almost all the big industry players here - THD, UPS, Coca Cola, NCR - pay way under consulting unless you aim for higher ranks which is a low probability conversion.

Interviewed for a GS-15 (same agency but different office) and totally aced the interview with excellent answers. They know I’m a top performer with senior references. However I noticed there was an internal candidate who has been there for few years and interviewed that’s a veteran. I feel my chances just sank and want to gauge thoughts.
