My parents, forever. My partner's in-laws...👀
???
Vampire rules apply. Once you invite them to cross the threshold then only 3 stakes through the heart will cleanse your home of the curse. I like to open with the “my daughter married an alcoholic” morning beer (stake #1), around midday I casually opine about just dropping out and getting back to my passion of following jam bands (stake #2). Finally, just about dinner time I’ll hold forth on the importance of family planning and make my impassioned case that the world has plenty of children and there is no reason I need to put another in harm’s way… “read my lips… no new babies👶 “ (stake #3) … wifey usually has them in a car and on their way just as the gin starts talking.
Haha... Good one.
My in-laws have never spent the night in my house and my parents haven’t either. They stay in a hotel that I provide and go back at night to relax.
My in-laws fly in from across the country about once a year and stay for about 3 weeks each time (as if they are coming in by horse and buggy). It kills me and my wife. We want them to stay no longer than a week but haven’t had the courage to set those boundaries.
One week.
Four days max, and the child of the visitors had to be there to coordinate/supervise.
