Mine are small but like $30, lol. We just don’t need stuff and I’m trying so hard to get them focused on experiences instead of tons of stuff
We’ve also instituted daddy/kiddo or mommy/kiddo 1:1 time which includes things like coffee dates (she eats egg bites, I have coffee lol). She explains it to people and it’s the cutest ❤️.
I just see so many homes teeming to the brim with toys their kids don’t even remember they have, and then that all just ends up in a junkyard somewhere, plus we figure the kiddos will remember the time they spent with us, not the stuff they got. Everyone comments on how imaginative our older one is (she does so much pretend play), and I have to think this feeds into it.
21 & 23. Around $1k each. Mostly clothes although got daughter a TV.
Usually $500 but now I’m rethinking all my choices after this thread.
About $50 each. $20 toys and $30 PJs and socks. Ages 2 and 3.
My kid just turned 16 and there have been years that I spent $500 and years that I spent $50. This year I’m spending less than $100 on art supplies and a perfume bc I went over budget for her bday trip last month and she doesn’t need anything
Seems high for us but we wrap up a lot of stuff we would buy anyway - e.g. son's laptop is on its last legs, we wrap up a lot of clothes, shoes, socks, etc. Probably $200 each for stuff they actually have on their lists - legos, books, etc
My wife likes to have a lot of packages under the tree
Two teens. At this age, I’ve been spending a little over $200 each. This year I spent between $250 and $300 each. My father just passed away last month (and my mom a few years ago). They always gave my kids a few nice things, so I spent a little extra this year.
About 2k for two kids.
This year was expensive because they (13nb) only wanted a gaming pc and we were inclined to get it. All told about 3k. Usually about $500 to $1k for the kid at most.
Around $180-200 for a 2 year old (a scooter, books, and a set of gabby’s dollhouse figurines that were so much more expensive than I would have guessed)
$100, on a 1 year old. I’m gifting needed essentials like socks, shoes, and clothes.
2yo and 4yo and I spent about $200 total.
Art supplies, new tumblers for each of them, a lite brite, some hot wheels, and some little people toys
About $500. Just got her a guardian bike. And wife thinks we need to get her more
Maybe $4-500 on a 6 year old. My child asks for very practical things and this year his list was: an Owala water bottle, flannel sheets, and a blanket for his bed like the one I have, which is what cost the most. I had no reason to reign in it on his reasonable requests for gifts that should last a long time. 😂 I also bought his artwork on household objects (mug, coasters, luggage tags) from his school fundraiser as a surprise.
The first thing they ever asked Santa for at age 3 was a small, blue, real hair dryer. Still uses it. 😆
$200 for a 7 year old girl. Barbie dreamhouse and a galaxy star projector.
$250 for a gift card for clothes.
Probably around $500-700 for a six year old. It was more than the last couple years, and made me a little ill, but it’s also fun.
