NO amount of money is worth dealing with certain people. This sounds like one of those people. At least in a physical location, we can ban/trespass/ask them to leave.

I agree with you.. no amount of money is worth dealing with stupid or rude people especially at a call center. I personally am not built for it but I no other can do it and they need the job. So, I completely get it but that just sounds frustrating to be in.
You must work at a very chill workplace. When I worked in customer service, they were very strict about call times and we would get in trouble if we chatted with customers. No matter how difficult they might have been to get off the phone. I don't miss working in customer service at all. Even though being a cashier is a lot less painful, it is not worth what we are paid. No job is worth being paid below a living wage.

It is painful working with customers over the phone. I know you don't see them but I have had some crazy encounters with customers being on the phone.
