I don't think we have a practice that requires a CFE

No

What if I were to transfer to a practice later on that does require the CFE?

As far as I understand, you don't need a CFE to be in Forensics.

Hmm the HR who spoke with me told me it would help for the transitioning..

I just asked my friend in Forensics -- she says it's not required, but it doesn't hurt and shows that you're serious about Forensics; it's mostly only directors and partners that have one.

Thanks for letting me know ! :)

Just checked he firm policy and it basically defers to a decision maker in each specialized LoS. Basically what that means is that you MIGHT be able to get reimbursed, but you'd have to already be in Forensics and request approval from a forensics partner.

What's the harm in asking? I'd ask and see what they say

Ohh, it's fine then. I guess I'll just invest in myself and just get the material now. I really do want to go to the forensics practice. If this is what I need to do to get in, I will. Thanks for the effort for checking ! Much appreciated
