Black Professionals In Accounting

Has anyone felt like that they don’t belong in the black community because they didn’t grow up around others like them?

How many of you code switch? Do you ever show you’re non minority friends your real side ?

I work in one of the big four and while diversity is preached every other week, I rarely see people like me in leadership positions. Anyone feel Same way?

I’m sure there’s some of us out there that are either in interracial relationships, live in an area that’s predominantly white, or both.

Anyone in the Phoenix area? ASU is putting on a conference tomorrow for black students to experience and network with black professionals. I'll be there.

Do other companies have an official Black People Network? We have one at EY but a lot of people are afraid to be active because they don’t want to be seen as isolating themselves from others

Does anyone else feel survivor’s guilt as well as imposter syndrome?

I saw a few posts relating to these issues in the main bowl, but I feel as if it’s more prevalent with our people.

I’m thinking of starting a personal finance blog in effort to educate our people, and young professionals as a whole on solid financial practices.

Just gauging interest in right now. Thoughts?

Whose going to the NABA conference in Vegas!

Hello,
Does EY pay for one to go to a NABA Annual Convention and do I need approval? If yes, how do I get one?

I’m relocating to Atlanta in June because my husband’s job is moving there. I’m wondering if anyone’s had advice on securing employment before moving? Did you use a recruiter/headhunter?

Anyone in here have locs? I’m planning to begin my loc journey in a few months and wanted some insight on how your locs are received in the workplace. I’m a little nervous about it.
