You ain’t alone, bruh. A few years ago I was at negative 40k. Slowly I’ve made my way to negative 8k. We’ll be in the positive soon enough.
Also, I think that those of us whom were born into difficult economic situations. Growing up in a single parent home definitely can be a setback for most of us. I know it was for me. However, I was fortunate enough to have some good people around me to show me the right way to handle my finances.
I agree with EY 2… This is a game of you versus yourself. All about discipline and self-control and you’ll be out of debt in no time to start building wealth.

I needed to see this post. I came from a single parent home and I'm currently having to spend quite a bit of money to help back home. Sometimes it really frustrating but it's getting better slowly.

Many of us in the AA community don't come from wealth and lack knowledge concerning money management and wealth acquisition. It's been an eye opener to say the least. Just buckle down and plug away, and look for a side hustle because you can't get rich off a 9 to 5. You're just making someone else wealthy.
Same. Many of started behind our peers, no one to compare to but ourselves. I also take comfort in knowing that doing the hard work now is setting my family on a better path for the next generation.
