Assurance Associate 1, it’s not helpful to jump down anyone’s throat who has a different viewpoint than you do. Maybe examine why your reactions are so strong to these types of questions.
What were you raised by white people? Black people come in all shape and sizes (dark light Hispanic French island African Nice mean loud educated etc...). sorry but the question comes off like “growing up around“ means ghetto. Would you mind elaborating?
What do you mean by fitting in? I was born 11,000 miles away in a different country and culture but I feel just at home with the blacks in America. I love them all just the way they come and I find that if you’re not judgmental, a lot of them are quite respectful and kind as opposed to how the media portrays them. If I can learn all that in less than 3 years, I don’t see your excuse!!
Because they’re stuck up and feel like the world revolves around them. Be true to yourself and be proud of whatever you are and trust me, people will accept you for just that.
And it’s plenty of black ppl that lives in the suburbs.....
There isn’t one monolithic “black experience”. I think too many people think like this.
I grew up in the hood. Now I live in a downtown condo. As others have described, there are many black experiences. I've had the pleasure of experiencing several. Each experience has their ups and downs... Appreciate people for their differences - everyone isn't going to be like you...
No. Especially not being in B4. There is no 1 black community and its even more broad when you consider who makes it into B4. OP, are you black? It seems as if you think there are no black people in suburbs which is more of a stereotypical comment than reality.
Its a lot of Oreos who work at the firm. Just embrace it
Some people grew up in the suburbs where there’s a very more spread out of minority individuals so you’re not in a community. You end up growing up in a white community and you adopt or just raised up on what they like. So you find yourself so different from the black community thus finding yourself not really belonging or fitting in. I wonder how many have felt like that and if they did what made them want to get out and be active in the black community ?
It’s all type of black people so idk about this question
