Freelancers - what % of work do you to at your own home/studio vs. at an agency/clients office

Roll call. How much experience? Do you staff in a boutique? An agency? Freelance? If freelance, do you usually work in agency studios, prodcos...? Do you bring on a post producer to help on big jobs?

What’s the highest day rate you’ve heard of an editor charging? I just found out what somebody is charging and it made my jaw drop.

I work at a post-house and made a spec spot using a bunch of footage that was provided to us by a client (direct to brand relationship, not via an agency). Clients haven’t seen....

How do you deal when people try to put down-days in a schedule? We can’t realistically book other work on random days.

Why do so few producers take interest in learning technical information?

Website question: is it bad to have a few spots that are over five years old? I keep them down at the bottom and the majority are much newer so they sort of serve as a ‘best of’ my older work.

Pitch videos. It has now become standard to be handed a vo script with no thought as to what’s on screen. When did the editor's job become thinking up the images as well?
