Would a telehealth healthcare service/app count as pharma, and be career-limiting if I don’t want to be pigeonholed as a pharma planner?
Any head finance execs at ad agencies can chat about the overhead for an agency? Apart from office overhead (if any), there is payroll/taxes and any insurance/benefits for employees. Not to mention taxes on revenue. Am I missing anything?
Everything else just lines the pockets of the founders right?
I’m currently interviewing for an AS role which would be a bit of a pay cut, but I’ll get to learn a lot so I’m interested. Any tips on how to approach the negotiation convo if/when that comes, besides asking to at least meet me halfway re:salary? They already provide unlimited PTO and free health benefits(which is nice).
Marketing people who has worked at Apple and Nike, can you compare and contrast? Pros, Cons, Culture, Pay, Benefits, etc. I’m a creative with an art direction background and noticed a decent amount of ADs and Designers jumping from one to the other.
Creatives who left for tech. What is it exactly that you do now? Is it still writing or art directing? Or a different creative role? Hearing about people leaving for tech so I want to know what it means exactly aside from the benefits.
I have a big old dummy dumb dumb question. Starting my first non-staffing agency freelance job next week, should I try to incorporate as an LLC or just get paid as an individual contractor? Any benefits or risks to either? Thx 😎
What do y’all pay in healthcare premiums where you are? I’m looking specifically at employee + children.
My agency is small so I think they can’t offset costs like larger places do, but maybe I’m delusional and other places are just as pricey and this shouldn’t be the reason I go corporate.
Recruiter told me i’m on their top list, CDs love my portfolio. He even sent me company’s benefits already even before I have an interview with them. So I’d better not fuck that upcoming 30mins interview. Do you think that 30mins interview will be a more personality check or talking about my works more…? Or both..?
What kind of benefits does IPG health offer?
I've been fortunate to receive 3 written offers. Do I take a higher base (95%), lower bonus (5%), hybrid or lower base (80%), higher bonus (20%), remote? Plus, aren't bonuses taxed higher? Each are close in total package range ($250k), benefits, WLB, etc. Concerned about relying so much on bonus given potential economic downturn. Although, the company has paid bonuses 100% since 2018.
About to be laid off (was given a heads up) and curious what an “acceptable” vs. “poor” severance pay is? For context: been with the company 2 years, director level role, will not be needing cobra/health insurance - only interested in how many weeks pay I’ll receive. Thank you!
Just had a positive performance review 2 weeks ago - got a (small) raise and extra week of vacation. My primary client just asked me off the business today. Going on paternity leave in 3 months. Odds that I’m about to get fired?
VMLY&R people who work here- how do you enjoy it? work/life balance? benefits? pay? thanks in advance!
I worked at 360i years and can’t remember my 401k account deets. am I fucked now they no longer exist?
What are some agencies that have strong of culturally relevant work/clients? Tired of working with healthcare and trying to make a move into something I’m more interested in or cooler at least
I'm new to all this. Is it best to save 10% of my salary all in my company's 401k (with 20% match, increasing by 5% every year)... or saving 5% in 401k and 5% in a Roth IRA?
hey, fishies! i got a dilemma. would you take an offer that’s $5k less than your desired salary range/expectations? (e.g. you say your range is $115k - $120k & they come back with $110k). but also this would technically be a $5k cut from your current salary, which is pretty much maxed out for its current title/salary band.
HOWEVER, i’d be moving from a midsized agency to a very prestigious agency, which also covers 100% of your healthcare premium AND deductible…
What's healthcare advertising really like?
Does the regulation leave room for true creativity?
So far I have been working in roles where I work on lots of different types of brands and I'm worried about being typecast if I work at a healthcare ad agency for a few years.
Will I have a hard time moving out of it if I wanted to?
Thoughts on Mother NY? Would love if you could also clarify if you’ve worked there, heard it from someone who has worked there directly, or if you’ve just heard it from someone who knew someone who knew someone…. might sacrifice my current job (good benefits + work/life balance) and hoping there’s some kind, wise strangers willing to help me make the right decision ❤️
Agency benefits. Let’s add em and compare, and be the better for knowing. Let’s let agency leadership see what they’re doing well, and what other agencies are doing better. I’ll start.
Anyone else get a “401k audit” email from Havas recently? I left the agency several months ago and just recently have gotten a few emails asking me to fill out some info for an accounting company called Marcum. The email addresses are from Havas, but I’m wondering 1) if it’s real and 2) are there any legal ramifications if I don’t participate? I just don’t feel like giving that agency any more of my time if there’s no ramifications for noping out of this…
Has anyone heard of/have experience with Decoded Advertising that they can share thoughts on? Recently was contacted about an open role (full time, media planning/strategy team at the manager level) on the Visa account - wanted to know opinions about WLB, comp., benefits/PTO, culture, career development, etc. since there's not too much info on glassdoor. TIA!
I left an omnicom agency for a Publicis one. My new benefits cost me 250 a paycheck (medical, dental, vision) for my spouse and kids. At omnicom it was 630 per check. That’s fuckin robbery right there.
Thoughts on Havas San Francisco?
Have a friend who was offered a position with their healthcare team, and has uneasy feelings about accepting the role.
They said the interviews went well, but something seemed/felt off.
Hey, does anyone know the base salary for a senior manager at RBC? Also, any info on company culture and benefits would be super helpful. Thank you so much!
Any Corporate Communications Specialists in Miami looking for a new job? ( a recruiter sent me this)

Thoughts on McCann health?
I've done some cool and fun brands.. now looking for some change. Healthcare seems interesting 🤔
Dear (agency name),
Thanks for your interest in this Creative Director, but I’ve decided to move forward with other agencies whose clients, work-life balance and benefits are a better match for my needs. I wish you success on your search, Me
Does it make sense to invest in 401k if I just came to US and plan to stay only for next 3-4 years. I have heard there is a 10%penalty with premature withdrawal but once I leave US, wouldn't the low
What are everyone’s thoughts on ECM analyst roles and how similar or different would it be from a coverage group like healthcare or tech? Would it be possible to move from ECM to a coverage group later on?
I just found out that our association management company is being acquired by another entity and we would be their first time into the non-profit space. I’m a senior Director of marketing & communications. It’s not clear who I will report to yet but this person won’t have experience in non-clinical healthcare marketing. Any recommendations from someone involved in a buyout before? And any questions I should ask as I advocate for my team, etc. thanks in advance.
Smart fish who work in healthcare, what can be done to ameliorate this? I remember from working in insurance that hospitals were frequently also on the brink of insolvency…but curious if you all have come across better ways of operating
What is your firm's fitness reimbursement/subsidy policy? We have a few spotty gym discounts but nothing material.
Anyone ever leave a FTE job with full benefits for a 1 year contract? I'm hoping to avoid future regrets - am definitely burned out and under-comped at my current position and we've been losing team members almost every week to greener pastures. I've been at the same place since I started in tech, from an intern to a PM, 6 YOE. Currently managing a peer (!) and reporting to a VP. The contract is for a company I'm interested in working for, but no conversion guarantees and I'm nervous. Stories?
What is reasonable comp ask for Specialist role at Mckinsey (base, sign on, annual bonus)? DC area. Does Mckinsey offer relocation benefits?
Curious what matters:
Currently making 50 base at large consulting firm in Tier 3 city. Expecting an offer at a Boutique in NYC (Tier 1) to be close to 95/100 base.
I am excited for almost double what I am making now but am afraid of the negatives: Have to start all over in terms of connections, benefits may not be as great (phone was paid by company), lots of expectations and responsibilities that I am afraid I am not capable of handling.
Positives are obv pay, location, projects
Stellar review, 113%billable target, sold new engagement (client penetration), and not even a measly raise that would be in line with COL (because I am at top of band)? Im feeling jaded AF now and ready go, hell even a lat move with better benefits would be a better move.
Don’t sing my praises with words and no action
What benefits do you wish your firm had?
How does everyone deal with household income differences with partners. My grandpa, former CFO of a large steel company used to pay his wife a salary which gave her freedom to spend how she pleased with no oversight from my grandpa. I think this is an interesting strategy (with potential tax benefits) that worked for them. What are some other strategies to deal with this that have worked for you?
Worked at EY for 4 years. I have a vested pension, they sent me a buyout letter a few years ago that I didn’t take. How do I look up it’s value now? I feel like this is fake money
What are peoples opinion on Fannie Mae, got an offer that pays 40% more then my current salary and the benefits seem decent as well.
Haven’t put money into stocks other than IRA and 401k I know I missed out but at this point my mindset is stockpile cash and when recession truly hits start buying stocks, is this a dumb plan?
I have 3 years of ABAP Exp at TCS I'm heavily underpaid. Want to switch ASAP but finding it very difficult to crack interviews. Please guide me on how to prepare for ABAP technical interviews.
Thanks in advance.
Hello, new 🐠 here! How difficult is it to get my hands on new Rolex these days? Looking for 2022 new datejust. Should I call the retailers to check for availability before heading to the stores so I don’t come back empty handed?
I’m three months into working for a content company that has never had a strategist and doesn’t have any project managers...just account, creative, and production and it is a complete mess.
Be brave and enjoy the victories because they don't come as often. This line of work is the most mind-consuming if you don't celebrate yourself whenever you have the opportunity. What's your favorite way to a celebrate a victory?
How is harman for automation testing profile , I heard harman is both product based and serviced based.
I have offer from EY and Publicis sapient but harman is offering for more.
