Let’s talk benefits for layoffs… Someone I know is likely going to have their role eliminated and word on the street is that the holding companies are offering fair severance, but only one month of health benefits. Does this seem out of line? Twitter and Meta seem to be offering more, but maybe because those are big shakeups? Discuss…

What have people’s experiences been like with Omnicom’s health insurance plans? Is it Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna - which company is it? Do any of the plans cover therapy?

Why does the government cap us at $20,500 annual contribution to 401k? Why not let us give what we want?

I’ve been promised a promotion since Jan. ‘22, and each month it seems to get “delayed because of finance issues with client” (huge multinational corp.) and other issues with in house HR/finance depts. I absolutely love my job, my boss, perks, benefits, & it’s all remote. I can’t shake the feeling I’m being led on. Last update they gave was Oct. now they’re saying it won’t be until Dec. I’d hate to leave but I feel like it’s the only way to move up. All thoughts/similar experiences welcome. Thx.

I’m client side now at a big corporation’s in-house agency and I cannot imagine going back to 60+ hour weeks, low pay, minimal benefits, and the uncertainty/anxiety of agency life.

Is anyone at a job they really, truly enjoy that also pays competitively (and has good benefits)? In my experience, I haven’t found anything that satisfies both. Either I love the job and I’m grossly underpaid or the job is totally mediocre but the money is great. Is it really possible to have it all or do I need to lower my standards? Maybe it’s just the way this industry is?

Any head finance execs at ad agencies can chat about the overhead for an agency? Apart from office overhead (if any), there is payroll/taxes and any insurance/benefits for employees. Not to mention taxes on revenue. Am I missing anything?

My agency is small so I think they can’t offset costs like larger places do, but maybe I’m delusional and other places are just as pricey and this shouldn’t be the reason I go corporate.

I've been fortunate to receive 3 written offers. Do I take a higher base (95%), lower bonus (5%), hybrid or lower base (80%), higher bonus (20%), remote? Plus, aren't bonuses taxed higher? Each are close in total package range ($250k), benefits, WLB, etc. Concerned about relying so much on bonus given potential economic downturn. Although, the company has paid bonuses 100% since 2018.
