Anyone (or know anyone) with experience at GMMB in the creative department (as opposed to PR, etc.)? I’m interviewing there and have read some troubling reviews on Glassdoor, especially around workload and burnout for non-senior staff. Given its size, I want to investigate whether that is company-wide or in certain departments.

For context, I’d be mid-level working with the west coast teams, so focus would be on causes and initiatives rather than politics.

How long does it take an agency to forget you interviewed there? I interviewed at an agency in March. I described a negative experience I had at a previous agency and they thought I was being openly disrespectful and I did not move forward. Do agencies keep any record of candidates to avoid?

Does anyone know what agencies are allowing fully-remote hires still? I’m looking to move to a new agency and want to make sure that I’m applying to places that won’t have intense RTO mandates.

Does anyone have any experience moving from accounts to creative? I’m currently in the late stages of interviewing for an account coordinator position at an agency but my goal is to get into copywriting. Should I take it if I’m offered it? Or wait on my other copywriter apps?

I’m interviewing with an agency that shares a client that I worked on at my prior agency that I left 2-3m ago. If my non-compete from that agency has the language “Employee shall not directly or indirectly solicit on Employee’s own behalf or own behalf of any other person, firm, or corporation, services similar to those provided while employed by Employer from any client of the Employer…” that doesn’t preclude me by being hired by this other agency…just from working on that shared client, right?

Thoughts on mentioning poker as a side hustle in an interview? I have a 5-month resume gap in which I played poker professionally to pay the bills while applying to other jobs. If they ask about the resume gap, should I even mention it?

I feel like it's one of those things that could be a big differentiator if the recruiter is open-minded. But some people (understandably) view poker as pure gambling rather than an exercise in probability/game theory.

My lack of emotion, which I really struggle with, turns some people off. Should I just mention I’m not an emotional person in the beginning in the interview?

What’s the best way to go about applying for a job at your client? My boss knows I’m not particularly happy but I think they like me, so maybe start there and get their buy in to advocate for me? Put out a feeler with a close client? Apply through the website? I just don’t want my current company to know I’m looking if this doesn’t work out 😆

Has anyone ever been uncomfortable with an assignment during interview process? Based on our convos, it seems like they would benefit greatly and learn a lot that they don’t know yet if I actually completed it. They could definitely use that knowledge and not hire me.

Context: This is for a tech company, in which assignments are normal in the interview process. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone, I am getting ready for a job interview, and need to create a media plan. I was hoping someone can help me with the next task: basically, I need to create inventory recommendation based on past performance. What I am very confused about is that they gave me Booked Impressions (=4M), but in the task it says I should assume there is unlimited inventory. Am I supposed to use this 4M only to calculate spend, ROAS, etc., but can actually have unlimited allocated impressions? Thank you!

What do you think of a company where you’re about to have a second interview and they just no show for the Zoom meeting? This is after I met with the CCO and a Partner during the first meeting. Second meeting was supposed to be with Founder and President. But he no-showed. Getting very disorganized and unstructured vibes, but I need a job :/

Been interviewing a couple of people for a Jr/Mid role and have been coming across quite a few who proactively position themselves as just “Creatives” who don’t want to get involved in actually crafting the work. Not sure how everyone else feels but to me, your first few years in the industry should be about mastering your craft as much as humanly possible. You just don’t have the experience to critique ideas properly before you’ve learnt how to write and design a good one on your own 🫠

In talks for a Creative Director role at a large tele-com corp. I received this feedback below from the hiring manager. What exactly falls under digital-centric design and what should I focus more on showing them?

“Do you have any case study format of a project you've worked on that was digital-centric design? Seeing more conceptual creative, we need design.”

How long does it take a CD to find a new gig? I have been looking for a year and nothing has popped up. Got rejected for four roles after interviewing. Only 6 roles have shown up. Starting to get depressed.
