Any paid media analysts here? What is your work load like and what does your day to day look like?
Beyond the corporate BS checklist, what’s a really weird thing you might notice or consider while interviewing someone? Off the record!
I was supposed to interview with an agency, but then the recruiter notified me they had to postpone interviews and she'd let me know when it's back on. Should I be checking in with her? Or just wait.
Didn’t land my dream job. But still had great chats and got along well with the folks I interviewed with. Is it kosher to connect with them on LinkedIn despite the fact that they went in another direction?
If I were to start talking/applying to other agencies in my network, would that news reach the HR department at my current agency and raise alarm bells? Just curious how that works.
Anyone deal with having a great first interview, company asks for times to hold a second one and then ghost you? I responded within 30 min with availability, followed up today and am hearing crickets.
Is this a red flag bc it feels like a red flag 🚩
Me, looking at my reflection in a black screen after telling the recruiter I don’t have any awards and the Zoom interview suddenly ending.
Any Amazon recruiters willing to let me know if I’m currently on the “not a fit list”. I interviewed a couple times and didn’t make it through I recently applied and got a under consideration and was sent an assessment. The next day it moved to no longer under consideration and my assessment link was deactivated. Feel free to DM me.
Just had a job interview with a New York agency and the interviewer said they saw my resume with Denver on it and immediately said "no" because they believe Denver industry people can't keep up with fast-paced retail clients and the pace of New York agency culture.
Anyone else ever feel resistance or discrimination over your location? This was a new for me.
(Context: I am a transplant from the Northeast)
I’m so tired of the incompetent recruiters out there that don’t even pick up the phone, only communicate through email, let you go through three rounds of interviews without asking you how any of them went so together you could call out any ways to insure it’s a lock. It’s like they are just flipping houses. So frustrating. Why do we need them again? The bad ones I mean at most large firms. My indy recruiters are the best. Ugh.
I just accepted a job offer at a company I've wanted to work at for the highest level currently available, since I'd been waiting a year for something higher and it didn't come about. Now the level higher was posted (my luck, and they didn't know the person in that role was resigning until after my interviews) and it more closely aligns with my experience. Do I say something or just take the L here?
Hey everyone, I recently started a new role and didn’t pass my probation due to mutually it not being the right fit. What are some good questions to ask at the interview stage to find out about team structure and processes? So I can get a whiff beforehand of what I’ll be getting myself into?
Just got turned down for a job I really wanted. No interview. I even had a referral, but they didn't even look at my book! Feeling empty and worthless right now. I know I have inherent value as a human being but I am so desperate to succeed and can't seem to catch a break. Just wanted to vent. Thank you for reading.
Can any of you spare some good juju for me, please? I’m trying to keep the hope I’ll get an offer from a brand-side company that really jives with my personal interests. It’s been two weeks with no word from the recruiter after a second good interview, and the waiting is painful. This would also get me out of the big agency world and into the world I think I’d thrive in. I’m losing my mind where I am, or rather, I have it and know exactly what I want. Please send the good vibes!! Thanks!! 🍀🍀🍀
Ive been interviewing with OpenX for a programmatic role. Anyone have a recommendation? Not sure if theyre a good company to work for
Has anybody interviewed for a sales position at Vericast? I’m going to be asked to do a presentation, what is all of that about? Is this something I already have that I am presenting or a product on their company? Thank you in advance
How does one go about applying for a Jr. Brand Strategy role at 72andSunny? I NEVER see openings for junior strategist
Was interviewing at 3 agencies, and was starting to get a feel for THE one…Today I got an offer from that agency (and got rejected from the other two) Feels like a SIGN !!!!! I am seriously stoked though—great team, great client and a dope partner who I really vibed with. On top of that was able to get what I wanted salary-wise. My first job !!!!!! To all the Jrs out there looking —you got this. The right job really will take time but so worth it
I’m an ACD and another agency reached to me for a GCD role. I’m suspicious, so what should I ask in the initial interview to determine if it’s a good gig or not?
My company’s HR keeps setting me up on “bad dates.” This week, I interviewed two candidates for an open job. One wanted $85k with just two years of experience copywriting for an *elevator company*. The other listed “pole dancing” as a skill online. The talent pool is full of radioactive waste right now.
I've been interviewing with a company and have had 4 interviews yet they still can't tell me who the client is. They have said the general industry but not the name. I've never dealt with this before, is this common?
How does running paid fundraising campaigns for nonprofit compare to running other forms of direct response? I have run a lot of B2B and B2C e-comm ads in my work history, never any fundraising. I’m interviewing for a job to run these types of ads tomorrow. Anyone with experience have any advice on how they compare?
I'm at a crossroads and needs some outside perspective. For some background, I worked at a charity organization as marketing manager and then moved over to retail to help with bringing in media in house and got paid more This was supposed to be a lateral move but certainly isn't as I'm doing a lot of the Jr work I did at the beginning of my career and im unhappy. I've been applying elsewhere. I got an offer at another charity group completely remote and makes little less but have better...
Why do people take remote working so seriously? I understand it’s a preference which is great but we’ve been interviewing for a position lately and our agency personally prefers to work in office, we don’t force anyone but multiple candidates have gotten noticeably offended when we tell them that. Like if you don’t want to come into the office then that’s fine. Go find a place that allows you to work how you prefer. It’s your choice 🤷🏻♀️
I’m officially “over” applying for jobs and getting rejected. What’s the point of winning awards, growing business and being a good manager if it leads to basically being unhireable? Okay - wah session over. Bleh.
Hi everyone I’m going to start interviewing for senior associate programmatic roles and wanted to know how much I should be asking for in terms of salary? What is a good amount?
So wait, what is this code for again after two killer high level interviews? 🤣
“I caught up with our team this morning and unfortunately the scope of this role is changing. We’re going to be putting it on hold until our client finalizes expectations.”
I'm trying to career pivot but unsure what title should my next move be.

Anyone know anything about Amex’s in house agency? I’m thinking of applying to a role there but know nothing about the team/work/culture. Anyone have a clue?
Do people actually reach out to creative directors on LinkedIn after applying to a job? Or do you just let the HR dept do their thing and if it works out, it works out?
If you DO reach out to someone after applying, what do you say?
Any mid level ADs in NY interested in applying together plz lmk. I’ve been getting a lot of interest from great agencies just don’t have a partner.
Would you consider working for an agency that once ghosted you after some rounds of interviews?
5 years ago I applied to an agency and never heard back so you think it’s safe to say I’m not getting an interview?
Anyone have any advice for telling your current manager about a job offer you receive from another company? My manager is great and I feel bad going behind her back to have interviewed elsewhere, and I’m scared she’ll be upset with me when I tell her I got another offer. Also, im excited about the offer and how it’ll progress me and my career. Thanks!

Are they hiring at EY right now? Had a recruiter interview 2 weeks ago for a senior consultant position in the Supply Chain team. No response about the next steps yet. The recruiter tells me that the hiring managers are not responding. Baackground: I was referred more than a month ago. The recruiter reached out to me 4 weeks after submission. Very positive response from recruiter but no movement even after 2 weeks. Is this normal? Or is the impending economic slowdown slowed down recruiting?

Is anyone here based in the UK who can recommend a broker for options trading? I have an account with IG index, but for options you can only use spread betting and CFDS to speculate on options prices which are cash settled at close, meaning that I would never take delivery of the underlying. Are there UK equivalents of platforms like Robinhood?
