Yes
It made me leave a stable job for a more challenging one in order to grow
While that decision was tough at the time, the career and financial upside I received by jumping ponds so to put it was amazing. Further, intellectually I learned more in a bigger pond than a small one.
If this line rings a bell for you, you need to think more deeply why it’s doing that for you
I have been in a bigger pond for the last 9 years. If I make a decision to go after this, I will be moving countries to a place where my role and experience is valuable and my brand names will go far. I will most likely end up with a bigger title in the smaller pond compared to what I am doing now.

I love questions like that because they leave you wondering. Keep in mind though a big fish in a small pond can’t grow beyond that pond so why not be a big fish in an even bigger pond so you can keep growing?
However a simple question like “if time and money weren’t an option what would you want your life to look like?” caused me to take a leap of faith and strategically collaborate with friends of mine outside my job.
In my experience being a big fish in a little pond builds confidence. And helps you achieve a goal of being a big fish if that’s what you want to be. It’s a riskier path.
The opposite builds skill, humility, valuable relationships and stability. And you can eventually get big if you excel compare to your peers.
So ideally choose the one where you want to improve and will feel comfortable.
This is so wise. Thank you so much for this!
